  1. I'd like to see Arkansas v. Wisconsin, and that may happen in the Cap One Bowl, but more than likely it ends up LSU v. UW. I don't think the Badgers would win, but I think it would be a close, tough, and exciting game. I don't even know what the Cap 1 Bowl is! They keep changing sponsors and I can't keep up, is that a BCS game?
  2. I'd like to see Arkansas vs WV. That game may have a 100 over under. For you Penn State fans, I hear a lot of whispers about Rutgers coach Greg Schiano being the next Penn State coach when Joe Pa leaves. He is a Jersey guy but he played at Penn State. I really don't see him going to Miami.
  3. Since when could Theriot play CF? Since he reminded me of Ryan Freel last year. Hell, they had Soriano and now Lugo there and they haven't done it either. Or get Brady Clark, I don't care. The point is how come no one's talking about Lofton; he's an ideal one year guy. Lofton would be a great option for the cubs. He would probably put up a similar OPS+ to Jones, trading some power for OBP. He would also most likely hit second pushing DeRosa to the bottom of the order, which is a good idea. He would also be slightly cheaper, and then hopefully we could trade Jones, something of value. However, it all depends on if he will sign a 1 yr deal and how much he likes Chicago. I'd like to see Lofton again as well, but maybe Bruce can answer this better than me, how was he in the clubhouse? According to Schuerholz, he was known as being extremely selfish. I hated him when he played for Arizona in basketball. I wonder if he was selfish or the only guy to stand up to Sosa? Well, if he was selfish while in Atlanta, I doubt Sosa had anything to do with it. It does sound like an interesting clash though. I meant when he was with the Cubs.

  5. It seems like you'd have to try to miss that many extra points.
  6. It hurts ND too since this is their top win so far.
  7. Why don't players call for a fair catch on off sides kicks?
  8. 3 TD's taken away from Louisville so far. If I'm not mistaken all WR's push off.
  9. They figured that they ought to start blocking Blades.
  10. I don't understand why ESPN employs Lou Holtz and allows him to speak on national television. The guy makes statements that hold absolutely no merit and are completely off base. Don't get me wrong, Mark May isn't great either, but at least he puts thought into his arguments and provides a good reasoning to go along with them. As an ND fan, Lou Holtz embarrasses me at this point. When someone tries to make an argument for your team and they are so horribly bad at it that it can easily be shot down by the whole country, the country can become convinced that there is no better argument out there. Every time Lou says something about ND, it just makes ND look weaker and weaker because of his horrible representation of the facts. I hope he retires-soon. He should stick to being a motivational speaker and leave it at that.
  11. I really want to see an OK vs Nebraska game too.
  12. Lou Holtz.>>>ND is a great team? I don't consider any team this year as great.
  13. Agreed. The only problem is that the Cubs need 2 more starters and Jones may be the best player to get one. I'd be fine with a Jones CF and Lugo at SS with Izturis, Floyd, Blanco and Theriot for the bench.
  14. Feel free to block Blades.
  15. I've been mulling a Jones to Pirates possibility ever since I read that. Jones would be a huge upgrade over Burnitz (HA!), and if they're that desperate perhaps they'd give up one of their young pitchers if we package Jones in a deal with one of our expendable ones. Perhaps Ian Snell (fingers crossed). Welcome to the forum! I wonder if the Pirates would trade within the division?
  16. Pitt reminds me of Michigan St, you never know what team you're going to play.
  17. Boise St. in a BCS bowl would be a travesty. Outside of an early win against Oregon St, they have played absolutely no one. Just because a team goes undefeated against a high school schedule does not entitle them to a BCS game. Although it would be kind of fun to watch them get massacred. you have to feel bad for them though. That program has done a great job in recruiting and building a good team....not their fault that the rest of the conference is a joke. I think it's elitist to say that only teams from the 6 BCS conferences should be allowed to play in a BCS game. Boise St. has been pretty well punished in both the polls and computer, but staying undefeated has forced them in there. If they lose today, then no problem, they go to the whatever bowl. If ND loses tonight, would you still put them in as an at-large over BSU? If they are punished by both the Polls and the Computers, doesn't that actually mean something? That they face weak competition and they really aren't that good? I sorta agree that it would be an embarrassment to see them in the BCS. They'll get steamrolled. If they want to go, let them go, but they will get destroyed. Also, LOL, ND is pretty bad. Notre Dame's victories are about on par with Boise State. In fact, has Charlie Weis really beaten any quality opponent? Just a team who is likely to be their conference winner in a major conference this year with a chance to beat a 2nd conference winner tonight. What throws a monkey wrench into it is a 3 or 4 loss team or 2 that wins the Conference Championship. The Big East could screw it up too as they only have 8 teams and that increases the chances for a 3 loss team like Pitt a couple of years ago . It's not just limited to the Big East. Look at Florida State last year. ETA: Georgia Tech could lose today, win the ACC championship game, and go into a BCS bowl with 3 losses. Did they have the best record along with winning the ACC Championship?
  18. I'd love to see 10 team conferences when they all play each other and get rid of the conference playoff thing and have a Championship playoff instead.

  20. Hes had great recruiting classes. I think 4 top 5's in the last 5 years. THe offense coaching is was dragging them down. Its awful. Im really surprised watching the game today that FSU offense wasnt booed at all. Ive heard the boosters are real sick of this though. I wonder if Bowden is going by the experts and not by his own evaluating skills.
  21. Better than the Big 12. That may or may not be true, though a healthy OU and Texas would beat any team in the Big East. Of course, no one has been in the football threads hyping the Big 12 as the best conference in america. It's because they'd be wrong. That's not what I'm saying, though. The Big East is a fine conference, but it's nowhere near good enough to deserve all the arguing back and forth. I agree. I just got upset at the lack of respect and it spiraled a bit out of control with some of the responses. Those responses are exactly what have bothered me and the ignorance of the league just astounded me. I know the Big East isn't the best but it isn't the worst either and listening to all the experts omit Louisville from the 1 loss club has bothered me also. I would think that you would feel the same way if OK had one loss and the polls had them at 8 or 9.
  22. Did anybody else there, cause I don't know? Wish Bruce was on to give the real story. Is it possible the Cubs might do a mega deal with Jones and Murton?
  23. What kind of pass was that? Bowden has to recruit better because he doesn't seem to be coaching too well of late. It's a lot easier when you have the horses.
