    I have to side with Hendry on this one. I'm sick of that stupid $300 million spending spree line. THE CHICAGO CUBS DIDN'T SPEND $300 MILLION THIS PAST OFFSEASON. Although I do agree that it's not really a farm system outperforming expectations. Right, just given a chance to play. It's not really that either. I think Callis is right on. Fontenot and Theriot each had 1 hot month that did help us, but neither was particularly helpful the other 4-5 months of the season. Soto and Marmol have been really good, but Callis was right on regarding those two as well. If you're referring to Hill, Marshall, and Marmol getting a chance to play, I agree. But it's certainly not a case of the "farm system" guys getting a chance to play that led us to playoff contention. It's Hill, Lilly, Z (at times), Soriano, ARam, DLee. Those hot months are better than a Lenny Harris or the like that Baker would have had out there hoping they would break out of their slump some time. imo Fontenot wouldn't have had many AB's at all. I do think the impact guys are the reason they are first place, don't get me wrong.

    Advanced Scout this year, something like 5th in the pecking order. People are speculating the Pirates convinced themselves to go with a Cleveland guy and when Antonetti refused to interview they went down the chain til Huntington. I've heard they asked Drew Carey and Mike Golic before they got to Huntington.

    Losing does weigh on you when you care. I agree that you have to remain focused and the Hitters that do are the ones that can hit at all times, in good or bad. In a way it's a good thing what he said, he cares enough about winning that he didn't want to pad his stats for free agency.

    It isn't. Bradley never mentioned it. He said the ump called him a POS - not a nice term but one that historically has been uttered to people of all races. The first base coach thought the ump's comments had "racial overtones" but he has never said specifically what was said or why he thought so. Whenever a black and white person are involved in any incident someone will eventually brings up racism whether it is warranted or not. Then I think the only question remaining is the most important one: Is there video footage anywhere of this injury?? I want to see the footage of the alleged bat flip.

    Wait what is it you're mad about? The Cubs just got done sweeping the Pirates and building about as comfortable of a lead as you could have hoped for going into the weekend. What is it you're perturbed about? The Cardinals are really hurt and banged up right now. Pujols was out there playing, and they had their best pitcher on the mound, so they aren't trying to tank it here. I'm guessing the Brewers get 2 of 3 from the Cards. The Cubs are going to have to win against a team they SHOULD win against. I don't think that's a change from Sunday. I think it's just his way of saying, "Screw this.. I'm not gonna be all worried about the Brewers anymore." Yeah, I think when you think about this too much and look into every single angle you may drive yourself crazy.

    Just win today and worry about the next game after that. The Cubs control their own destiny and you can't ask for much more than that with only 6 games left.

    Why is Georgia 16 and South Carolina 21? Dew was right, it's certain schools that get way too much leeway. USC loses a tough game vs LSU and Georgia beats an over ranked Alabama and they flip flop. God I hate the coaches poll.

    ahahahahhaahha, thats hilarious. Now Illinois has the hardest game so far coming up. I'd really love to see them upset one of Wisconsin, Michigan or Penn State, but history says otherwise. I'd be surprised if they didn't beat at least one of those teams.

    Not from me. I can handle a bad ump but I can't handle one that thinks he bigger than the game or has some stupid agenda/attitude that effects the game. That's when I don't forgive.
