    Not certain how it works in baseball as opposed to football. But without making a trade, where can the Cubs get a catcher from other than their own minor league system? Independent leagues? Do players/veterans with a certain amount of service time have the option to sign with another team’s 40 man roster if they aren’t on their current team’s 40 man? Just wondering who might even be available without having to make a trade.

    Watching KB makes me sad. Watching Rizzo makes me sad. Watching Willy makes me sad. Watching The Professor makes me sad. Watching Carl makes me sad. Watching Q makes me sad, despite tonight’s pitching. Oh, almost forgot. Watching Hayward makes me sad. Because the last two weeks are closer to what the Cubs thought they’d be getting for 5-6 years beginning in ‘16. And it’s even sadder to know the regression to his Cubs’ norm is jus5 around the bend.

    Nah, Musgrove has more than average talent and may end up the Pirates’ best SP on a decent staff My point wasn’t about what Musgrove might become. It’s the fact that he’s been just so so, maybe a tad better against teams not from Chicago’s north side. Against the Cubs, he’s unhittable.
