  1. Eh, give him a chance. Hasn't even played a full season yet.
  2. Ref "fan interference", I believe the fan can play the ball as long as it's not in the field of play. On the second Edman HR, I don't think the fan reaches over the wall, unlike the last play of the game.
  3. I guess he threw 2 innings at OK City, 31 pitches.
  4. How many pitches/innings does Yamamoto get? I tried to find out if he had any rehab starts but couldn't find anything.
  5. Small sample size, but Paredes is 4 for 11 with a dinger against Schmidt. Maybe tomorrow instead?
  6. Philly's O-line still pretty dominant. As long as the O-line is healthy, they'll be good on offense. Too many weapons to not be.
  7. Unfortunately, we've been getting mostly "old' Hendricks this season. Maybe tonight we can see "young" Hendricks for 6 or so innings.
  8. Fun Fact Mastrobuoni is: -1 for 2 in his career against Jared Jones -he's 2 for 4 against Paul Skenes -he's 2 for 4 against Colin Holderman -he's 1 for 2 with a double against David Bednar. He either hasn't faced or is bad against all of Pittburgh's other pitchers. None of this really means anything.
  9. I don't know who Gavin Hollowell and Trey Wingenter are, but apparently they're on the Cubs 40 man roster. I assume one of those two get the boot.
  10. This is a good pick up for the Bears. Toure has shown some flashes in limited playing time. He and Grant DuBose (signed by Miami) were squeezed out from the Packers' WR room because they have a lot of depth (though inexperience).
  11. White Sox record in each month of 2024 season: 0-3 March 6-21 April (3-game sweep of Rays) 9-19 May (series win at Cards; a 4-game win streak) 9-19 June (3-game win streak) 3-22 July 4-19 August (so far)
  12. White Sox are horrible. And unlucky. But mostly horrible. Check out the top of the 9the in a tied 3-3 game. Two, man on first and second. Kyle Seager bloops one in the short CF. Luis Robert is literally and inch or two from making a sliding catch for the third out. He doesn't. Rangers go up 4-3. Then Jankowski in the bottom of the inning. They are unlucky. But mostly horrible.
  13. Supposing you could elaborate on this??
  14. Paredes has been great ay 3B, but man has he been dreadful at the plate.
  15. Blame it on the pitch clock!!
  16. Wisdom gets the start at 3B for Paredes. With a RHSP starter for the Jays. Odd. PCA moves up a notch in the batting order, hitting seventh.
  17. Not related to today's game, but it looks like Skubal is starting tonight against the Yankees. So the Cubs will miss him in the Detroit series. Big plus!!
  18. They are, and pretty much have their entire existence, been a pathetic franchise.
  19. Yeah, I don't have much more than a pedestrian eye for football film. My overarching point was supposed to be mostly that it was a good read, good throw and good protection.
  20. Looks like there was the exact same opening/lane to throw to Odunze at top of the play as well. Key to play is protection. If he has time to throw a given play and the timing with WR is there, QBs will/should make those throws.
  21. I hate this thread and the coincidence of the trend of the teams mentioned since its start date. That said, the Cardinals next 25 game stretch is brutal. After a 3-game set in Cincy, they play: -Dodgers -Brewers -@ Twins -Padres (4 games) -@ Yankees -@ Brewers -Mariners Good luck with that. If they are still in playoff contention after that stretch, they they certainly deserve it. Hope they fail miserably.
