  1. ^^This is who I think will be representing. Obviously, I'd prefer the Packers be in, but I think their record is a little better than the team is, and I don't see them beating Philly. That said, not including the Packers, I'd like to see the Bills beat the Rams.
  2. This is a big question most fans have. I actually have no problem with the TO when he took it because I think LaFleur wanted time to decide if he would kick or go for it on 4th down.
  3. For different reasons, but this is/was vintage Sean Payton with Brees. Saints would be up handily with minutes left in the game and Payton/Bress are chucking 30-50 yards passing, running up the score and padding Brees' stats (often).
  4. I’m not specifically comparing Morel to Happ or anyone else. My point is more was expected from three everyday veterans for the first couple months of the season. And this attributed, IMO, greater to the Cubs lack of success than Morel’s woes. As did the pitching issues that seemed to be there all year.
  5. Happ was pretty bad in March/April and May. He was great in June. I’ll maintain that his lack of offensive output the first two months of the season played a bigger role in wins/losses than Morel’s lack of production.
  6. I would argue horrendous first halves by Happ, Hoerner, and Swanson, and the initial injuries to the starting rotation which had a trickle effect with the BO, followed by the closer being bad because of injury followed by being out because of injury all played much bigger roles in the Cubs first half struggles.
  7. Morel got almost half the season playing 3B in 2024. Certainly Shaw could get as many and not be infinitely worse, right? That gives the Cubs until the July/trade deadline (sort of) to come up with a replacement if Shaw ain't cuttin' it.
  8. Josh Jacobs is having a huge season. But he's being outshined by two RBs having "huger" seasons.
  9. I'm not suggesting the Cubs should not have traded for Tucker and/or have traded away Parades. I was merely referencing the post by Bertz regarding with Paredes' balls in play from last year overlayed at MinuteMaid. Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, Looks like Paredes would've had a whole bunch of HRs just by playing in MM. I'm sure Tucker will hit with plenty of power at Wrigley or really anywhere.
  10. Who hits more HRs this season, Tucker or Paredes? What's the over/under for Paredes? 40?
  11. The Winter Meetings
  12. Trading for Tucker for one year gives Jed the ability to trade Tucker for "assets" at the end of July when the Cubs are "close to the playoffs, but ultimately sellers because, next year."
  13. In a lot of small towns where minor league teams play, yes, you can. Will it be in luxury accommodations - no. But you can certainly find plenty of hotel/motel-type places with clean beds and bathrooms. I've stayed in plenty over the course of my career.
  14. Titans requested virtual interviews from (at least) Aaron Glenn and Antonio Pierce. Also, their GM is Ran Carthon, so it seems odd he would only interview a minority because it's mandated.
  15. Seems kind of odd/random. What makes you think this?
  16. Screw the closer. Just pitch every game like it's a 5-inning start followed by a 4-inning start. Have a couple extra guys for games when there's extra innings.
  17. Daniel Jones to Da Raiduhs, perhaps. Minshew is out for the season, and they have Des Ridder. Not ideal, even for a crappy team.
  18. NFL tells Bears that last-second blocked field goal by Packers was clean play: source Link
  19. So is the team.
  20. Smart phones are mostly awful. Unfortunately, I own one (but only one). Social media platforms are mostly evil. I belong to this board, a Packers board (both for over 20 years), and I have a mostly dormant/lurking FB account because that seemed like a necessity 15 years ago. That’s it. I surf random websites for sports, news, history, data, but I don’t do any type of commentary. I’m just really down on smart phones because of the always accessible social media attached. I’m not down for me, but rather, pretty much everyone else I know and see. It’s hard to find people doing just nothing. At a restaurant - everyone is on their phones. Stop light - phones. At the beach, in a park, at the movies - phones. Even social gatherings - everyone is constantly checking their phones. And especially younger folks. They have grown to need instant satisfaction/information. Throw in more advanced bots and the eventual domination of AI into social media and dialogue will be even worse, if that’s possible. Sad, but I guess I’m old. That is all.
  21. Bryce Young has thrown for 300+ yards in his career exactly one time so far. Against the Packers last season. Bryce Young has thrown more than 1 TD in a game three times in his career, but only once without also throwing 2 INTs (he threw 3 TDs). Against the Packers last season. Bryce Young's highest Y/A in his career is 8.7. Against the Packers last season. Who was Carolina's OC last season?
  22. The Cubs have made me bearish on all of my other sports fan interests. @BillHuberNFL The #Packers have thrown a lot of interceptions, dropped a lot of passes and committed a lot of holding and pre-snap penalties. Imagine how good this offense could be if it could get out of its own way. ‘Obviously’ No Easy Solution to Packers’ Problems on Offense
