  1. And the Expos curse still lingers on.
  2. Jansen going the Goose Gossage route.....
  3. Well, you don't hear that often. A Benito Santiago reference.
  4. Oh my. 4-3 game now by a 2 run HR. Stuff is starting to pick up....
  5. Meltdown commencing.
  6. You burn Culberson, lose Urias AND don't move the runners up. Brutal.
  7. Nope. That was definitely on the 3rd base coach. Waved him home to an out.
  8. And the free out just cost them a run.
  9. I guess Wavin' Wendell must be working for the Nats....
  10. I never gave up. Seeing the Royals in 2014 and 2015 pretty much reinforced me to stay through the end, no matter how good or how ugly it is. Eventually, postseason baseball is just a whole new level of craziness.
  11. Tres. Ball game. Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win! Onward to NLCS!
  12. Oh damn..... that really stinks to hear. I'm so sorry for the loss of Fred. I met him once when I was in Chicago for a week vacation with my ex. It was a long time ago, but if my memory serves me right, it was me, Fred, and there was one more member here from NSBB. It was Harry Caray's restaurant in downtown Chicago. We had a cold one and just BS'ing about the Cubs. Great guy.
  13. Heck, might as well throw out the kitchen sink in this game. Suicide squeeze.
  14. Is Gordon really that key to them? He seems more like a nice guy to have around to a disinterested observer. Though it is meaningful that anyone who could walk didn't. I mean he's averaged 5.5 wins over the last 5 seasons and that number is being held down by 2.8 wins over 104 games last year. Obviously age is a factor but based on his last 5 seasons he's certainly a key piece of their team. and 2.8 wins in 104 games is roughly a 4.2ish win full season pace I pay almost no attention to teams like the Royals. When I think of them, I think of Hossmer and Morales being the important guys. I was surprised to see that Gordon is right up there with them. Wow.... Just.... Wow....
  15. Royals and Blue Jays ALCS is going to be a brutal game. Keep in mind, those two teams nearly brawled with each other several occasions during the regular season.
  16. For me, it would have to be Schwarber's game 4 NLDS monster home run. That's Glenallen Hill Territory.
