  1. Does Tunney get elected by the voters, or does he get picked by the Mayor? Just wondering, don't know how the politics do in Chicago. If he is voted by the voters, then do what I would do. Vote him out in the next election.
  2. I can't imagine Ricketts being worse than the Glass family in Kansas City....
  3. Interesting pick by KC. I kind of look at Manaea is basically KC's #8 pick, and Dozier is basically KC's #34 pick. If Manaea refuses to sign, then KC lose only about 1.3 from their bonus pool instead of 3.1.
  4. No idea. Some Twitter feeds are telling me that it's a reach. In other words, financial move, I guess.
  5. Are you talking about Clint Frazier? If so, I agree. He doesn't look like 6'1". He's really 5'9" - it's one of the reasons he wasn't in consideration to go higher. MLB needs to have a combine to get these things right. I think they meant 6'1" full of grit....

  7. I'm going to trust Sagarin a hell of a lot more than a biased ND fan's eyes. Like USS? Of wait, he's not an ND fan. You trust sagarin bc it tells you what you want to believe. I trust Sagarin because Sagarin states that the teams are now WELL CONNECTED and so all three ratings are UNBIASED. It also states that ELO_CHESS, only winning and losing matters; the score margin is of no consequence, which makes it very "politically correct". And Sagarin says that K-State SOS is 29, and ND's is 28. ND is one better, but what's criminal is that the VOTERS think Oregon is better because of their flashy costumes and flashy offense. Sagarin says Oregon's SOS is a putrid 45. So, I don't want hear of any junk that "Who did K-State play?" Give me a break. Truthfully, I'd rather have a ND and K-State NC game based of the SOS, since both of those teams played tougher schedules than Oregon did. I'm telling you that my opinion is WELL CONNECTED and UNBIASED and only winning matters, not MOV, so you should believe me. I mean, I'm telling you that. So why wouldn't you believe me? Oh, probably bc you've analyzed Sagarin's exact formula and understand it to be better. Fair enough. Hmm... So if I were to choose a good indidcator that a pitcher is good based of W and L's but ignore his ERA, ERA+ or WHIP, or ignore the W-L but focus on his ERA, ERA+ and WHIP? I'll chose the 2nd choice. I'm done with this silly argument.

  9. ND plays 4 true road games (including USC game). Kansas State plays 5 true road games (including Baylor). If USC was a one loss team, then that would have helped ND chances of overtaking Kansas State. Unfortunately, USC is a 3 loss team at the moment, and if USC loses to UCLA (assuming ND and K-State as well as Oregon staying undefeated) then that hurts ND, because then USC could be out of the top 25 at that stage. Could. Not to mention that Texas is now sitting at 15/18 and if they win their game before K-State game, they could be very much ranked higher. Not to mention that they are currently ranked higher than USC at this point (USC is at 21 on both the AP and Coaches polls) The reason why K-State gets a lot of love from the computers is because the Big XII is the 2nd best conference. Every team in the Big XII is at .500 or better, except for Baylor and Kansas. The weakest resume would have to be Oregon because their SOS does not match up well to Notre Dame or Kansas State. And the only teams that kept Kansas state close was Iowa State and Oklahoma. Other than that, Kansas State has won by two or more possessions in every of their games. ND has won 5 games that was decided by a TD or less. And there was no reason why ND needed three overtimes to be a lowly Pitsburgh Panther football team that they should have blown them out. Style points. I'll say this. If ND was in a conference, then that probably would have helped them much more than being a "Independent". Regardless, K-State does control their destiny for the BCS NC game. Win out, they're in.
  10. That was serious grit, right there. Heck of a catch.
  11. I don't believe so, here in KC many weren't happy he was their choice at number one the next year Fwiw. You are correct with this assessment. Many of the Royals fans think that he's a sissy. It's like, when he has nobody on base, he's pretty good. But when he gets a runner on base, well, his mental mind just changes from a world beater to a scared (expletive) guy who's afraid to make a mistake. He's definitely not a #1 starter. More like a back end rotation guy, but that's just my opinion.
  12. Yeah, I was thinking 2015 as well. 2013 - New players/young group 2014 - Same core, getting better - .500 ball, maybe some new FA additions that are being added to the piece of puzzle 2015 - Begin dominating NL Central. ?
  13. Would be nice to have a decade of dominance in the NL Central....
  14. Well, one less "great" player to deal with, mericfully.
  15. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=58773&start=1200 also, that site has been wrong on multiple occasions so let's not go overboard yet. My apologies. I was looking for college football off-season thread, but from using my phone, I missed it.
  16. http://tamu.rivals.com/default.asp?SR=RivalsFP Looks like Texas A&M going to the SEC.
  17. He keeps jumping like that, he's gonna get picked off.....
  18. Yeah.... its time to find a different centerfielder....
  19. Nice pitching Dempster. :clapping: :clapping:
