  1. Well, like I said, if some of you fellers want to hang out for a bit during the game, just pm me, and I'll give you my seat location. There'll be plenty of open seats in the outfield section.
  2. SS, It depends on where u are coming from, but if u can get to the K before say, 11a.m. , you should have no problems getting in. As for traffic, some days, its not so bad, some other days, its brutal. Since its the Cubs, I would imagine traffice might be more busy than say the Arizona Diamondbacks, because, well, it is the Cubs. And other recommendations is in the KC area is seeing the Power and Light District in downtown KC, west of the K, on I-70. There's also the Crown Plaza on the south side of KC as well. Any of you guys want to meet up prior to the game on Friday, just send me a PM, and I'll gladly give you my number. Illinoiguy, u say section 246? I'm at section 251, outfield seats. Strange, I thought Friday is buck night, per kcroyals.com, last I checked. Wonder if that changed at the last minute....
  3. Enjoy the game! Take an oppiturnity to walk around the stadium, especially out by the oufield. TT, I agree with you. Unfortunately, the LL section close to the dugouts/homeplate is very excessive (price) and I wasn't too keen on dropping $100 for two tickets for that section. I managed to score $52 total for two tickets outfield seats, which they're generally placed at $30 per ticket, plus MLB service fee, etc, etc, which the total would had been $72. I rarely ever buy stuff off stubhub or ticketmaster, but stubhub was a winner in this one, as it saved me $20 bucks, and the printing off tickets was icing on the cake, which $5 for 2 tickets (still dumb) is better than $8 service fee per ticket.
  4. You were one of the members I was thinking of when I made this post. Bummer to hear about you moved, but were you once at Topeka, Kansas?
  5. Not sure if this is the appropriate place for it to go, but if it should go towards a different section, feel free to move it. I scored some tickets for the Cubs/Royals game on Friday 6/24, so I'm looking foward to that game. Are there any NSBB'ers heading to KC for the game(s) for the weekend?
  6. Not surprised by this move. Am glad that Hosmer finally got called up. It is time, because he just have been tearing it up in Omaha. It would have been comical just to keep him down in Omaha. And as far as Kila is concerned, he might suck; he might not. I'm not 100 percent sure. But he had an opportunity, a fair and extended opportunity, and he bombed.
  7. Annnnnnd he's thrown out by a mile. Nice defensive play by the Cubs.
  8. Nice pitch. Edit: Nice smooth quick 1-2-3 inning.
  9. Wish the Royals would play this song at Kauffman Stadium. IF they ever did, I'd donate $100 to a charity of their choice.
  10. To be fair, nebraska has only lost two home games this year--KU and KSU. I don't know how confident I'd be of a road win there if I were a Mizzou fan. And Nebraska has Doc Sadler, or commonly known as SLTH (Sold Long Time Hire) for us Big XII fans, as a running joke.
  11. To be fair, KSU had several moments where they had a 5-7 point lead, and blow it at the middle/late of the 2nd half. Basically, they couldn't close the deal. To be fair, tadow is a ridiculous homer. Right, and Coach C is a KSU guy too. Snayke isn't as much a homer as much as he's really into making edgy comments. But you have to give KSU credit. Even if Texas is fading, they're still a strong enough team that beating them(especially in that fashion) on the road is a clear indicator that KSU is a different team. Someone's going to be pissed that they draw them as a 6 seed come next Sunday. Didn't know Coach C was a KSU guy. Glad to not be the only one here. In the end, the majority of us are Cub fans at least.. hahaha. Yeah, I'm a KSU guy. Season ticket holder for FB teams. If someone would had asked me that if KSU was going to make it in the tourny during their slide, I would have said "No. Maybe NIT" and not blink. The fact that they are playing much better basketball, and beating teams that they should be beating, and did beat KU, who was number 1 at the time, and Texas who smoked KU at their court, I think KSU is a lock. I'm not a homer or anything, I just call it how I see it. Every team is going to hit a stride and every team (mostly) is going to hit a slide. Like Texas, they're still a very talented team, but it looks like they're just going through a slide. I'm sure Texas will figure it out at some point. I didn't think K-State had a good chance to win at Texas, considering that they should had been pissed after getting beat by Colorado. All I was hoping for was them to stay in the game, and not get blown out.
  12. To be fair, KSU had several moments where they had a 5-7 point lead, and blow it at the middle/late of the 2nd half. Basically, they couldn't close the deal. Now it seems like they figured it out. Also their FT shooting has improved dramatically, and that's critical, especially going to the NCAA tourny. I think K-State is a lock now, after beating KU at Manhattan, and beating Texas at their court. KSU's RPI is also what, 25? I know their SOS is 6. I'm thinking somewhere between the 4-8 seed for K-State. 4 being if they win against ISU, and win the Big XII tournament, and 8 if they flame out.
  13. And they have a top 5 pick again. Plus next year they will have the top pick most likely. Even with that, wouldn't this next draft may also be the last one without a hard-slotting system (both sides seem to agree somewhat on a slotting system for the next CBA)?
  14. Royals 2011 Class Best Of The Top 100 Era? http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=10925 I'm not so sure Baseball America is the type that would make for exaggeration and hyperbole. If the Royals are bad 3 years from now, this will be one hell of an epic fail....
  15. So, would you be okay committing what, at least 25% of your payroll for one player? Just a question.
  16. shut it, whippersnapper. I was already 23 when that game happened YOU shut up. I was 38. (Waiting for Fred to tell me to shut up.) All right...... all of you slugs.... GET OFF MY LAWN !!!!
  17. Oh boy. That is gonna get ugly.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=fleming/101028&sportCat=nfl George never even took a team to the playoffs. Call me crazy, but when Cutler's career is over, he'll have more on his resume than just this one playoff experience. Wrong. Took Atlanta to the playoffs in 1995.
  19. The thing is, he did come back into the game. He was going to be pulled at half time and came in for the first drive and then left. What does that say? I don't know, and I can't answer that question. I'm just purely spectulating here. It could be that the knee was very seriously injured. Or maybe it could be that Cutler didn't want to play. I don't know. That's BS, no offense but it is. You just directly compared Jay Cutler to Jeff George in the worst possible way. You're not speculating. You're casting aspersions. None taken. The reason why I'm comparing Cutler to George is because both of them had excellent physical talent. Their toughness and leadership abilities are being questioned. With that being said, I'm done with this issue. Good luck with Cutler is all I'm going to say.

  21. Well, I'm not going to be one of them, but if I was Chicago, I would take a real long hard look on Cutler, and what to do about him from here on forth. That guy is starting to remind me of Jeff George. yes, you would. what a joke. You're saying that you're content with Culter as your QB? I'm more than content. But then again, I only realize there's 1 Tom Brady and 1 Peyton Manning in the NFL and that Cutler is one of the 10 best QBs in football while surrounded by one of the worst supporting cast (sans Forte) around, including a historically bad offensive line. And I understand that there is only one Tom Brady and Manning. I wasn't pairing Cutler into those two, but, having seen Cutler play in Denver, when he's good, he is good, but when things aren't going his way, he mentally checks out. His toughness has been called into question before. Honestly, I don't know how serious his knee is, but this is the NFC Championship game, and Cutler was standing around with that knee. Looked fine to me. Put on a brace and get back on the field. *shrug* Either way, good season for you guys. At least you guys lasted longer than my Chiefs could.

You're saying that you're content with Culter as your QB? is this a trick question? go away No, it's not a trick question. I'm just asking an open honest question, that's all.

  25. He's been making pretty good decisions. Well.... spoke too soon.
