  1. Yeah, the batters didn't have to break a sweat on some of those pitches.
  2. That's what I'm talking about!!! Bases are juiced!
  3. Control your bat a little bit Javy. Just need a solid hit.
  4. Hang in there fellas. You're getting some hard hits on this guy now. Eventually it'll wind up some hits. Keep battling.
  5. Strike out 3 times... *Lines to LC Wall* Sit your horsefeathers down Smoltz.
  6. Honestly, at this point, I'm cool with someone from the Cubs bench get up on this ump's inconsistency. It's the horsefeathers World Series, not the Beer Softball World Series.
  7. That irritates me the most. You got a 0-2 pitch on this guy and you hit him?
  8. Well Lester got that 0-2 call on that corner that Bryant was caught looking.
  9. Is it me, or am I seeing Joe Buck wearing lipstick?
  10. Of course, listening to Joe Buck can put them to sleep quicker than 9pm.
  11. Most of them would be in bed by 9pm and will look into the box score in the morning.... *shrugs*
  12. We're not only witnessing history on the Cubs making it to the World Series since 71 years ago. We're also witnessing history of an actual first NSBB game thread that pertains the Cubs and the World Series game. History, man. History.....
  13. Can confirm she is not a crazy weirdo. Great family. We enjoyed them in Kansas City when they were here. I knew when he was going to Chicago, that the Cubs were in really good hands with this guy.
  14. Don't care. Heyward was rated as being pretty bad by offensive metrics. Where did I say Heyward had to be out there? Just repeat the lineup from last night with Contreras at the DH and Ross or Montero catching. Agreed. As much as I like Kyle, I just worry with that such of a long layoff that he won't be able to be ready, and could hurt the team or himself. I know he got medical clearance, just ACL's and LCL's are something not to mess around. Personally, I would like him get caught up and completely ready to go in 2017 and forward.

  16. If there is such a thing called the Hall of Fame thread forum, this thread would, without a doubt, be unanimous induction into that.
  17. Once upon a time, WGN broadcast 150 Cub games a year. I spent a lot of summers from 1983-1990 tuned in. Same here. I was in elementary school, and by the time 3:30 time, I hopped on my bike and made a mad dash to home in time to catch the 4th inning or later, depending on the game. Loved WGN a lot back then. Shame they're now just a has-been. I remember 1989. 1998. 2003. Some others as well. 84, I was too young. I was only 3.
  18. That's so [expletive] weird. As a kid I grew up in Kentucky watching the Cubs on WGN. The two are strangely linked in my emotional nostalgia.
