  1. I think I'd go Hairston Walker Lee Ramirez Burnitz Nomar (under the assumption he is healthy and hit in his rehab stint) Murton Barrett I don't trust Nomar to be the guy responsible for bringing in Lee and Ramirez, and basically I think if he does come back he'll be worse than Burnitz. me too, goony. i was gonna post the same lineup.
  2. boy, i sure wish the cubs' problems involved scarves and wives and not managers and center fielders and getting swept by a team half-full of teenagers
  3. bruce, earlier this week on baseball tonight, peter gammons said the cubs were ready to call up pie until he sprained his ankle. if this is true, are you at all concerned that the cubs might be making a mistake by bringing him too early? a lot of people seem to blame patterson's attitude and refusal to change as the main reason he has struggled, but i think that he's plagued by the entire philosophy of this organization: the ultra-aggressive approach when it comes hitting. patterson was already an aggressive hitter, what he really needed to suceed was to be MUCH more selective and get on base so he could utilize his speed. apparently no one ever told him that, and now he's allergic to the BB. with pie being similar to patterson tools-wise, i'm worried. what are your thoughts on the situation? also, i think you should make this your avatar: http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/4633/brucemiles1qn.jpg keep up the fantastic work, mr. way-... miles.
  4. check out minorleaguebaseball.com and do a search for them
  5. jesus god don't do it WHY ARE WE WORRIED ABOUT RELIEF PITCHING WHEN WE'VE SCORED -3 RUNS IN THE LAST 10 GAMES GET A BLEEPING LF (dunn plz) HENDRY
  6. ahahahaha that is pretty terrible.
  7. Sledge is out for the season yeah i know... give me something to work with here people
  8. how about this trade: cubs trade patterson and mitre to nationals for sledge nationals trade mitre to cincy for aurilia, PTBNL reds trade us dunn for sledge, rich hill, and angel guzman i don't see this trade happening, but i really can't figure out any way that a trade to washington will be productive from the cubs standpoint. if anyone can figure out a better way to involve cincy in this deal, please feel free to speculate. *cubs need a big OBP guy in their lineup, gain dunn *reds need pitching, get a great groundball guy in mitre, two good prospects, and a solid OF in sledge to replace dunn *washington needs, um, nothing at this point? upgrade at SS in aurilia, and um, pinch runner in corey?
  9. right now this is probably my (slightly realistic?) dream lineup for the Cubs: Hairston - CF Walker - 2B Lee - 1B Dunn - LF Ramirez - 3B Burnitz - RF Barrett - C Cedeno - SS
  10. man... where to begin for tonight's game the cubs deserved to lose for being so stupid
  11. From rotoworld.com ok everyone, don't overreact there is no God

  13. this thread has taken a turn for the hilarious first of all, the phrase DUSTY BUSTING is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. it's childish, stupid, and utterly ridiculous. any attempts to take any argument seriously with that phrase is impossible. with that out of the way, Neifi didn't do a bleeping thing today. he got a single and bunted corey over. the cubs lost 1-0. if you honestly believe that playing Perez over Hairston gave us a better chance to win today, you must be out of your mind. ZZ, your argument really is ridiculous. the fact that you mention players tiring is totally absurd. i mean... c'mon. Hairston has started one game this year. this injury to Walker is the reason we have Hairston on the team, and we just waste him on the bench. there is not one aspect of the game that Perez performs better then Hairston in. i mean, we lost 1-0. maybe hairston can hit a solo home run, or hit a gapper and get something going. sure, perez could do that too, but you can't possibly argue that perez is more likely to do one of those things then hairston. i have no problem with giving Baker credit for somethig he's done, because i have nothing to gain by not giving him credit. it's not like my opinion has any bearing on what the Cubs' management thinks, so i have nothing to gain from being dishonest. all i want is whatever's best for the cubs, because i want them to win. but here's my honest belief about Baker: he sucks. he's done some good things, but he's also done a bunch of horrible things, as we all can attest. the fact that Perez and Macias are even taking up two rosters spots in Hendry's fault, but in this situation, Hairston SHOULD BE PLAYING. argh. also, i would like to help you add to your list of people who are also more successful than me, have had better gals than me, and will likely go down in the history books for something, and i have no problem with it: Dusty Baker The Ultimate Warrior Ronald Reagan Steven Spielberg Jesus Roast the D--- Goat True story, I was talking about the Ultimate Warrior at work the other day, and some guy in there mentioned that he was dead. The guy sounded legit, like a real wrestling know-it-all (nerd) so I took his word for it. Until today, when I looked the Ultimate Warrior (or Warrior, as he now likes to be called apparently) and I discovered that he is an extreme right wing racist. Weird huh? yeah i read somethingawful today too. pretty funny stuff.

  15. Every time Neifi Perez comes to bat for the Cubs, I get violently ill. If Dusty Baker was a Senator, he'd be impeached for this. Argh just argh
