  1. Did Hector freaking Luna swing at a 3-0 pitch in front of AP with a runner on third and two outs? Did that just happen?
  2. More like Operation Crack Pipe
  3. They did it in 2003. Not exactly. We bailed them out of one, so to speak. They were in danger of not being able to make payroll at some point DURING THE SEASON. They wanted to trade Kris Benson's 6 mil salary but couldn't because he got hurt, so they had to trade Aramis. Aramis could have been dealt elsewhere. Any number of contenders would have taken him if the Pirates were so desperate to unload salary. Instead, we had a rather large hole at 3B and the Pirates let us fill it. what teams had a hole at 3B and money to burn at that time in the season? Exactly. While I understand and acknowledge the Aramis could have gone elsewhere, there wasn't exactly a line forming. Bottom line is that Littlefield isn't giving Wilson away this early and certainly isn't going to do so to a team that he still has to play 14 more times.

  5. What's Ron supposed to say in that situation? Maybe I'm a jerk, but something in English would do. I am glad that he pulls for this team, but he adds nothing to the broadcast, especially in situations where things are not going well.
  6. Ron Santo has officially hit his most unlistenable. Ron: Oh God, Oh geeze, oh no, oh oh oh. Thanks for the information. Please go somewhere that isn't the broadcast booth. Thank you for all of your contributions and being a great fan, but you SUCK as a broadcaster.
  7. Funny how the Marshall Bashers are silent now. I didn't even realize there were Marshall BashersTM Everything is to the extreme. You can't even talk about guys strengths and weaknesses without being a basher. Its knee-jerk, reactionary and ridiculous. I am not a Marshall basher. I am concerned about his performance to this point. I am very happy he has retired the last 7. I hope he retires the next 7.
  8. How many 3-ball counts for Marshall tonight? Ok just looked it up...6. Wow.
  9. Somebody please tell me why no more Vin Scully on MLB radio? Why does he disappear after the 3rd?
  10. He doesn't get it across the plate nearly enough. He's already been touched for 3 bombs in 11 innings. I am still not sure how this team in 8-5. A healthy Wood and Prior are needed ASAP. 11 major league innings...that's all...and you're really judging him on that? How else should I judge him, his thoroughly impressive 10 innings of spring training? Or his multiude of minor league starts. I like Marshall and I think he can be good but I think he needs more seasoning. But yes, I am judging him on his ML body of work and its unimpressive.
  11. I don't expect him to be a stud. As a matter of fact, I don't think he should be here at all.

  13. When is it acceptable to question the quality of the Sean Marshall era. So far, I am thoroughly unimpressed.
  14. No answer to the Scully/Charlie Steiner question? Why does Scully only do three innings on radio?
  15. Does anyone know why, on MLB Radio, Vin does the first three innings and then turns it over to Charlie Steiner and some other guy?
  16. I amazed at how bad Z can look while only giving up a run or two. He hasn't had much location yet this season. Bye bye Carlos, time to go to the bully.
  17. Will there be any sarcasm left for the rest of us to use?
  18. Good thing Dempster closed down a 4 run lead last night. I think this is his 8th appearance in 12 games. Dusty hasn't been able to kill his ineffective starters so he's murdering his closer. How many non-save appearances has Dempster made now?
  19. Vin Scully is a pleasure to listen to.
  20. Elite pitchers don't melt down when a miscommunication happens, hit the next batter and then go 3-0 from over throwing and serve up a gopher ball. He absolutely has to learn to check himself.

As the starters get stretched out and hopefully start going longer into games, Dusty will be able to mix and match with Ohman/Eyre and Williamson/Howry in order to get to Dempster.
  22. I think he's in better shape than he was last year. If we get up 8-0 by the 7th or 8th I'd sit him. I am not being critical of Ramirez, just trying to protect him for the long haul. I know he has worked hard.
  23. At what point do you think about getting Ramirez and his cranky body out of the cold and into the clubhouse?
  24. Gameday would be wrong. They screwed up their own count. 2 pitches a piece to Eckstein and Encarnacion and 4 to AP.
