Indeed. I rewound the play on my DVR and went frame by frame though and I think it was closer than it looked. The ball might have actually beat him there. But yeah it looked like he was safe by a mile in live action.
At least Volstad is consistent? :-k Not that being consistently awful for at least one inning in every start is a good thing but he is pretty damn consistent at doing that. :?
Every person I've heard thinks the Pacers will match, although it isn't guaranteed. I can't see Hibbert being overpaid by enough in that scenario to be worth losing an asset for nothing. It's not like the Pacers are likely to be able to lure another quality player for a fair money deal. From David Aldridge:
Jay Bruce just made a really bizarre defensive miscue to lose the game for the Reds. He was drifting back on what looked like a fairly routine fly ball and when he got to the edge of the warning track dirt, for some reason he thought he was about to hit the wall and jumped and missed the ball. If he had just kept drifting back he would have caught the ball easily with room to spare.

Mike Wells tweeted that the Pacers are already looking at other options at center including Asik so...I'm not so sure.
Blazers have offered Roy Hibbert a max contract (4 years, $58 million) and it doesn't sound like the Pacers are willing to pay Roy the max and are talking to Asik from the Bulls. Blech.
Can't say I've ever seen back-to-back 3 base errors. They weren't back-to-back. Johnson K'd in between them. Whatever. Two of them in one inning, still can't say I've seen that.
