  1. And Garza gives up the 3 run lead and there is still only one out and a runner at 2nd. :?
  2. Clevenger/Barney/Mather with consecutive hits and then...and then...MATT GARZA MAKES A GOOD SACRIFICE BUNT!? :-o
  3. Clevenger hits a double that wasn't laced down the left field line?
  4. Soriano bloop single, 1st & 3rd, 2 out.
  5. DeJesus draws the first Cubs walk of the evening.
  6. I don't think you can get WCIU on the dish.
  7. Woohoo, FSN Detroit isn't blacked out. I can actually watch the game. \:D/
  8. 2 game winning streak, why not shoot for 3? :stickman:
  9. Yes! Go Thunder! :yahoo:
  10. I thought the fat dude from Blues Traveler died years ago lol.
  11. 11 I wonder how often a team finishes a season with more blown saves than actual saves? :-k
  12. I was looking up team stats earlier and the Cubs have 7 saves as a team, worst in the majors. I wonder how many blown saves they have as a team? I could not locate that stat. Help me out Fred!
  13. Me too. I miss the NBA on NBC.
  14. Devils get a 5 minute major for boarding and the Kings scored 3 power play goals in those 5 minutes.
  15. 1945 World Series re-match! :stickman: As bad as the Cubs record is, it is only 8 games worse than Detroit's record. That kind of surprises me. I guess I did not realize the Tigers were sub-.500 right now.
  16. I'm fully in favor of opposing players vomiting all over the Cardinals field. :good:
  17. I still think it's a good idea to try guys like that since some will work out. However, this season shows that you shouldn't try to build a full team of buy low guys. That is what I think too. Nothing wrong with taking some low risk/low $$$ gambles on those types of players but you don't build a roster around guys like that and I don't expect Theo to continue to build a roster around those players in the future.
  18. I honestly don't recall anyone who insisted this team would contend, like N&G said of course the possibility of contending was discussed but to me that is normal spring training talk. I think most people were of the opinion that this team could at least win more games than the 2011 club which isn't out of the realm of possibility yet. This isn't a good team but I don't think they will continue that monstrous 4-20 losing pace that they had set prior to today's game. If they simply play .500 ball the rest of the season, that would put them at last season's record of 71-91. Not saying I expect THAT to happen but I still don't believe 100 losses is inevitable to happen this season. And if it does happen, so what? Whether this team loses 90 games or 100 games, there is much work to do on the roster either way.
  19. How about 62-99 heading into the final game? OH THE DRAMA.
  20. The Cubs have been losing too many consecutive games, I keep forgetting to check the game thread rotation. I'll get back in gear for Tuesday's game. So Dempster has gotten 18 runs of support in the last two games, that is nice to see. :good:
