  1. So Crean didn't even have a man to man sit down with Roth. What a weirdo. I'm not really sure what Matt expected to happen given there was no available scholarship for him. He got both his Bachelor's and Masters degrees in 4 years and was part of the Senior Day ceremonies this past spring.
  2. The Sox are delayed right now, Cubs still playing. Bob just called it correctly, those AL guys are sissies. 8-)
  3. Woohoo I stay above .500 as a game thread starter! \:D/
  4. I kind of doubt it. Crean is already working on a 6 man class for 2013 that would not include a spot for Patterson. Unless of course Austin Etherington goes pro, I guess that could open up an extra spot. :hello:
  5. Joe Mather vs Aroldis Chapman. Yeah that was going to turn out well.
  6. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN198706080.shtml June 8, 1987. Cubs beat the Mets 4-2 on a walk off HR by Manny freaking Trillo. \:D/
  7. That pretty much jives with my opinion that the Colts game is a 5th preseason game. :hello:
  8. At this point, I'm ready to concede that this was a Creaning. But hey, it was either this or have Austin Etherington have an unfortunate "accident" involving a lead footed campus bus driver. :-" No Jordy Hulls was going to pay for half the team's scholarships. That is how we are making room for Gary Harris. \:D/
  9. At this point, I'm ready to concede that this was a Creaning. But hey, it was either this or have Austin Etherington have an unfortunate "accident" involving a lead footed campus bus driver. :-" Who's playing guard this year? Is Creek actually going to be back? Hulls, Oladipo, Abell, Ferrell and what? Everything I've heard and read indicates that Creek will be healthy enough to play, yes.

  11. So he had bad grades in summer classes I guess.
  12. From another board, by a poster who said one week ago that Patterson would not make it:
  13. Ron "Buss" Patterson is the Creaning victim. :-" Errrr he is ineligible apparently. ;)
  14. I'm not even that outraged by PED's, I just found it funny that someone would find it disgusting and reprehensible to suggest that a record breaking Olympic sprinter would be suspected of juicing it up. Show me this person, so I may mock them as well. I swing a big ass battleaxe.

I'm not even that outraged by PED's, I just found it funny that someone would find it disgusting and reprehensible to suggest that a record breaking Olympic sprinter would be suspected of juicing it up. What you are stating is a lot different than what I was responding to. If you are cool with everyone doing it, that is fine. I'm not looking to enforce a sense of morality here.
  16. So is his chemist 1) Who the F says "chemist?" Are you a Brit? 2) I hate this attitude. Wouldn't you rather be proven wrong about actual PED use than right? This is relentlessly negative and frankly, disrespectful. I think it is incredibly naive to assume any of these track guys are 100% clean.
  17. Leclutch!
  18. Kind of annoyed seeing all those Reds fans at Wrigley. RAWR.
  19. No, I've read all the posts. I just can't recall Tim being this negative before. Okay that took a moment to sink in...I lumped myself in with WSR on something. OH....MY...GOD. #-o It's been a long week. :) I know I was too dramatic in my phrasing in the initial posts in the thread, but I stand by the logic of what I've said. Starlin is a good player now and is highly likely to be a really good player throughout his prime. But he will need to seriously step up his production down the stretch to avoid having this season be a step backwards offensively. I'm fine with it if that is the cost of adjusting his approach. But until those results are seen his projections have to be taken down a notch from where the were previously. I don't like seeing Starlin struggle like this either and I hope he can finish the season strong. I just tend to think if this is truly a result of a change in approach, maybe it will take a full off-season plus 2013 spring training for Castro to come full circle back into being a new and improved Starlin Castro at the plate.
  20. For me the conundrum is whether or not I should be more concerned about Starlin's offensive struggles or not. I do agree he has made strides in terms of fielding skill and base-running ability (whether both of those things are quantifiable in terms of stats, I am not certain). I've generally considered the hitting slump as a factor of a change of hitting coach AND approach but I also respect Tim's opinions on things and he seems to be putting a bit more weight into the concern about Starlin's decline this season.
