  1. Preston Wilson loses his hat too much. Annoying.
  2. I've noticed the same thing. It seems like Cesar has had some decent at-bats.
  3. Yankees-Red Sox, Yankees-Red Sox....almost makes me want to double check my program guide to make sure I've got the right channel.
  4. Rosenthal says the Big Z are a week away from being tabled until the end of the season due to the pending Trib sale. Is the first pitch at the top of the hour or what?
  5. Talk about hyperbole to the nth degree. :?
  6. Time to start winning some series. My goal for the remaining 9 games this month is 6-3. That would put the Cubs at 12-13 for the month of April with some nice winnable series awaiting in those first two weeks of May. I might be losing my edge but I just continue to have a good feeling about this team. I know the season thus far has feature a lot of the ugliness that helped make 2006 forgettable but I really do have faith the tide is going to turn soon. The starting pitching continues to encourage me, Z's early struggles aside.
  7. It's still early. But the Cubs need to kick it into gear pretty quickly, you don't want to get much farther below .500 this early. Nothing says "crappy summer" quite like the prospect of having to cheer for this team to just get back to the break-even point for a few months. Z's struggles aside, the pitching of Hill, Lilly and Marquis has me still fairly optimistic about the Cubs chances the remainder of the season. Pie is exciting to watch, maybe Soriano's little hamstring injury will be a blessing in disguise in hindsight. But yeah, this team has once again become mad geniuses at finding ways to lose. That is at least the 5th truly frustrating loss that really should have been a win. A little early to pile up that many "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" moments. That's about it. I'll keep watching. 8-)
  8. Seriously, this bit is played out. Please stop. The Cubs losing ways are more played out than saying OVAAAAAAAAA.
  9. Ahhhhhhhh gotta be kidding me. 1st and 3rd nobody out and two K's.
  10. What a horrible bleep bleep at bat!!!!! None of those pitches were in the zone. Thanks Jock, thanks alot bum.
  11. Good hit. NOW DO NOT GET PICKED OFF PLEASE! THANK YOU.
  12. Just the kind of game that I hate to watch. Losing 1-0 to a mediocre pitcher.
  13. Way to swing at pitches that aren't even close and strike out Cubbies!
  14. Wow. So the Cubs World Series hopes rest on the who wins the classic good/evil battle between Cliff Floyd and Matt Murton. Alright then!
  15. That's nice, he's still one of the better hitters on this team. Even his outs are loud. You can't say the same for no XBH Murton and his IF dribblers. Floyd hasn't cost us a run in the field and has hustled on the basepaths, beating out a DP and taking the extra base on several occaisions. Floyd's OBP is currently 50 points higher than Murton's, so I'm not sure what you're getting at with the BA argument. All I have to say is you can bring in past prime players and make excuses how they should play all you want. Keep it up and in another 100 years we will be talking about 200 years without a championship. Yeah, I'm sure the difference between Matt Murton and Cliff Floyd is that critical.
  16. Prove it. Also, GO SAMMY! Corks to start (I still supported him through that one, BTW). And that "prove it" nonsense is no argument at all. It essentially responds to the argument by saying "That's what you think." It ignores substantial circumstantial evidence that points to him have used substances he shouldn't have. You and I both know what I am talking about, so I won't bother repeating all of it. I was going to write something but there is obviously no point.
  17. Isles up 2-1 over the Sabres.
  18. He is in better physical condition which should help. I'd be more than happy to never feel the need to call him Dumpster again. :)
  19. Absolutely!
