  1. Bah Cubs know they got it wrapped up so they are just taking a day off....like Game 5 of the 2003 NLCS. Oh did I say that? Just a little dark humor. I'm not worried. Yet.
  2. How do you access the trial? Go like you are going to sign up normally. You have to give your credit card number first and they charge it if you don't email them to cancel it within 5 days. Anyways I guess I have nothing to lose so here I go. That's kinda stupid. If they are doing a risk-free, then it should be free for 5 days, without needing the stupid credit card thing. MLB is idiots. I agree. And the game is blacked out anyways. Here comes my cancellation email.

  4. MLBTV has a free 5 day trial but I'm in the Cubs blackout zone. Does that mean this game will be blacked out? I live in NE Indiana.
  5. Is there any way to purchase just this one game on MLBTV or anything? I'm stuck with blackouts all around (don't have Extra Innings).
  6. A game like this could be the straw that breaks the Brewer's back.
  7. Ugh. Thanks for reminding me of AGonz.
  8. Penn State not looking too great here against Michigan. I guess that is normal given past history though.
  9. illinois is very fast and strong at their most important skill positions, which is awesome. the only problem is that juice has yet to impress me throwing the football. if future teams stack the line to prevent mendenhall from tap dancing on their db's chests, they may need to go to mcgee, who has impressed me throwing the football. Yeah, if IU could have stopped the run and made Juice throw more I would have felt better. But.......yeah we get pushed around too much.
  10. Same old Indiana. But nah, Illinois is pretty decent too. I was surprised.
  11. If Milwaukee wins this series I'd be fairly shocked. To me the realistic worst case scenario is the Brewers split 4 games and the Cubs win 2 of 3 against the Pirates. That leaves the Cubs 1.5 games up entering the final week. That is still a pretty commanding position to be in.
  12. Color me not concerned. If the Cubs lose this division it won't be because Pujols sat out 3 games against Milwaukee.
  13. Ball State isn't a gimme this year. They weren't a gimme last year either when IU had to rally from 17 points down to win 24-23. I'm just saying if IU is good enough to start 4-0 then I feel like they will be able to take those 3 games at the very least. But I'm trying to not look ahead too much. It's just been a long time since I really felt this good about Indiana football again.
  14. House sitting for my sister and the game is blacked out on the cable. Gonna have to listen to the Reds radio broadcast, WGN isn't coming in very good on the radio here.
  15. Just win. Losing another series to the Reds will make Sosa21MVP a sad panda.
  16. Indiana vs Illinois should be an awesome game. Getting to 4-0 would almost clinch a bowl game for IU with remaining games against the likes of Minnesota, Ball State and Northwestern. Plus the Iowa, MSU & Purdue games are also winnable.....tough but winnable.
  17. Bah. Stupid Cobs won't win tonight. Big Z will let us down. Now that I've set my bar at the bottom, PROVE ME WRONG COBS!!!! PROVE ME WRONG!
  18. I really don't see a significant difference but maybe it's just me. People tend to overrate their favorites. I see it happen a lot on the various boards where I post for all my teams. There are Pacers fans that think Jeff Foster is worth a lottery pick in the NBA draft. I just think when a person really likes a player, everything they see & hear with regards to that player is put through a filter where every positive is magnified a thousand times and the negatives kind of get....filtered out a bit. Not really a brilliant piece of analysis on my part but it's my two cents on the subject.
  19. It's stuff like tonight that make people love Theriot. He was 0 for 4, and in the middle of a slump, but he went up there and did what he had to do to help the team win. I can think of quite a few guys that have worn the Cub uniform who would have never done that tonight. And I certainly appreciate Ryan's effort. He's pretty much done what he is paid to do. As to the original poster, I don't know why a fan favorite has to always be a star and sure the home fans tend to overvalue their own. But that is true of any fanbase and is not unique to the Cubs at all.
