    It's stuff like tonight that make people love Theriot. He was 0 for 4, and in the middle of a slump, but he went up there and did what he had to do to help the team win. I can think of quite a few guys that have worn the Cub uniform who would have never done that tonight. And I certainly appreciate Ryan's effort. He's pretty much done what he is paid to do. As to the original poster, I don't know why a fan favorite has to always be a star and sure the home fans tend to overvalue their own. But that is true of any fanbase and is not unique to the Cubs at all.

    So I think it's safe to say that if the Cubs win every remaining series then they win the division. So that is really all I'm focused on now.

    I'm extremely pleased with the 3-0 start by Indiana. The Hoosiers are playing pretty decent football so far. Yes I realize they will be tested a lot more in Big Ten play but regardless I like what I've seen. Beating Illinois next week is huge. A 4-0 start would come pretty close to guaranteeing a bowl bid finally after 14 years.

    if I was the cubs manager, a cardinal would get plunked next inning Did something else happen in the game? It just looked like an unintentional HBP to me. it was but that's the second guy that got hit... plus i hate the cardinals so why not Hitting a Cardinal is always good form.
