Insight Bowl..........good lord I didn't expect this. :oops: Harsh reality check for IU football! Hopefully 2007 is a season to build on and not a short-lived peak amongst the vast valleys we have occupied since 1993. I'm glad I have a lot of strong beer left.

I hear what you are saying but I'm not sure that Jim's life is ruined forever. Whatever public image he possessed is certainly tarnished and he'll have to pay a price through the judicial system and all that but....I don't know. I have an uncle that killed two people as a result of drunk driving. A mother and daughter. It's been a while so I don't remember what all happened to him but I don't recall him getting any jail time. I think he just got stuck in rehab for a while, I vaguely remember visiting him there. He was able to go back to a normal life and didn't even learn his lesson. He got pulled for a DUI some years later. :oops: In fact I'm pretty sure he still drinks and drives to this day. At least it would not surprise me in the least. So it's not a great situation for either side but it's certainly far worse for the side that lost family members to the grave. I'm sure you realize that but I just wanted to share my perspective since I've had a family member involved in this.

Well if you listen to the UK fans, that is part of it. I guess either Alex or his mother had come out and pretty much said that Coach Gillespie was making them practice too hard or something of that nature. UK fans didn't react well to that and honestly I don't blame them.

The fact that there were a couple people who disagreed with Sampson's account was known months ago. It was also clearly in the report that was publicized weeks ago. True, the only news here is knowing who those couple people actually are. Meh.

Look at the break down by half. 12-11 UCLA in the first half, 108-87 in the second half. :shock: Seriously though I'm so let down. They show that as the final score on the yahoo sports front page and I was about to die from laughter. Then I examined the box score. Yahoo has some of the weirdest goings on with their scores. :?

Why did Bassett get suspended? The ever famous "violation of team rules". I'm curious too. After the game Sampson said he wasn't sure how long the suspension would last. Personally I'm growing a bit tired of our players getting suspended.

Kentucky is bad on an epic level. It's almost like watching the 2007 Notre Dame football team....you just wonder what happened? But yeah Billy Gillespie has nothing to work with yet. I think he will be fine as long as the UK fans don't try to knife him in the back too soon. The Cats Pause message board made for interesting reading this evening. 8-)

That's some mind bendingly awful logic. I agree. I mean.....wow. :lol: Are you saying a team shouldn't get credit for beating a team ranked in the top 5 in the nation? What constitutes a top 5 win? My logic is apparently flawed so please explain. I'll explain in three sentences. ND beat No. 3 Michigan at the Big House in 2005. Michigan finished 7-5. No one did or should have considered that a top 5 win. End. The stats site that as a top 5 win. It's not really hard to understand. I agree that Wisconsin isn't a top 5 program right now, but that is what they were ranked at the time they played Illinois. The fact of the matter is, Illinois beat 2 top 5 ranked teams. Whether you think those teams should have been ranked in the top 5 is another issue all together. That is cool. And for the record I feel like they are a good pick for the Rose Bowl. It's not like I'm saying they don't belong. I just don't put much stock in claiming a Top 5 win against a team that ended up proving not at all worthy of that ranking.

Wow, that is horrible. But I guess MSU is heading for the Champs Bowl now. With MSU and Indiana picked already, the Motor City Bowl had no other choice but to take Purdue.

what kind of D do you guys play? Diet Oklahoma can move the ball. They just can't stop anyone. Our run defense sucks but we have a good pass rush and two NFL caliber cover corners.

If they play Georgia....my god. That will be a beatdown. Everyone said the same thing about Boise State-Oklahoma last year. I knew that was coming. But I thought Boise State had a chance last year. Hawaii isn't Boise State. They will get destroyed.
