  1. Woo, cant say Im disappointed about the cancellation as this means I dont have to see Marquis pitch next Friday against the Cardinals when Im there. Now it should be Lilly, who Id much rather see then Marquis.
  2. I think Durant could top that next season. As a 19 year old. Deng's best years will be in the 23 and 7 range. Durant's will be in the 33 and 9 range. Deng is a very good role player, but he isn't a game changer that necessitates a double team. Durant can be that guy who does everything Deng does, but better in addition to driving the lane and drawing 10-15 ft's a game. You realize Deng is 21 years old right? To say he is a very good role player is crazy. Also to say Dengs best is in the 23 and 7 range is wrong also. Deng since giving up shooting 3's as often has become a slash and drive type of guy with a really good mid range jumper. There is no reason to think Deng cant average 25-28 a game, when he gets a little older, you know like 25. Also to say Durant is going to average 33 points a game is ridiculous. Do you realize how hard it is to average 33 a game in the NBA?
  3. But he was and its still Howrys job as our supposed best reliever to get him out. Hell anything but give up a home run to Adam Freakin Everett. Howry and Eyre have been horrible so far this year. Money well spent there. 7 games.... Give it a little more than a week into they year before we evaluate if it was money well spent. The real comedy is in the game threads, after each win or loss they are either losing 100 games, or headed to the playoffs. I dont care if its 7 games into the season. The point of the matter is that its absolutely ignorant to spend big money on relievers. They are not worth it considering you have just as good of a chance using somebody from your own system. Just as good of a chance? How is it that minor league pitchers who failed as starters and thus were converted to relievers (for the most part) have just as good of a chance to be as good as a guy who has proven to be successful as a major league relief pitcher? How many guys that are supposedly proven major league set up guys or closers started out as that? Over half the relievers in MLB were failed starters, and they are too hard to predict how they are going to perform year to year , hence why it is dumb to spend big money and big years on supposed proven relievers. So you'd rather go into the season with a bullpen full of seven guys that have never thrown a big league pitch than a pen full of guys who have proven that they can get big league hitters out? I wouldn't. Nor would every single GM in baseball. Where did I say anything bout goin into a season with 7 guys who havent thrown a big league pitch? I said its dumb to spend big money and big years on ML relievers because they are so inconsistant. Giving out 3 year deals for relievers to me is not smart plain and simple. I know every bp isnt going to be built from your farm system but if your farm system is anything decent you should have enough quality arms down there that you can form most of your bp from that.

  7. Y? We have nothing to lose with Kerry. Hes making jack squat, and whenever he is "healthy" then Im guessing he will help win a couple games. And if he gets hurt again after that oh well he helped out. Whatever we get out of Kerry Wood this year is a bonus, if we get nothing then big deal we signed him to a low risk high reward contract. No reason at all to let him go. Sit back, and wait for him to get healthy if it happens cool, if not oh well.
  8. I think this offense is going to be just fine. When it gets warmer and the ball starts flying out they could be dangerous. The last 2 games they are starting to heat up and Lee and Ramirez have started out on fire. They are doing most of their damage right now without Soriano who I think is probably pressing, but should calm down as the season gets goin.
  9. OK so is it ROSIN or is it resin? lol
  10. Rolen? Other than his omission, I agree completely. Our bullpen needs somebody to come out of the woodwork too. Ya I meant Rolen instead of Edmonds. Minus Pujols and Rolen their offense isnt going to scare anybody. At this point in Edmonds career I dont think he really scares anybody.
  11. Wow their offense does not look good at all. I understand its only 3 games but their offense minus Pujols and Edmonds honestly isnt going to scare anybody this year. They need somebody to have a monster unexpected year or else I think they are in serious trouble if they dont make a trade for a corner OF.
  12. Well I guess if you consider the Cardinals real baseball that is
  13. BG needs to learn how to play under control a little. When he drives to the lane he puts his head down and is completley out of control. The ball should NEVER NEVER be in his hands with the game on the line unless it is passed to him and he turns and shoots. He cant dribble while being pressured worth a damn, and most of the time is out of control trying to do to much when hes ball handling at the end of games. Oh ya those refs were a joke.
  14. I dont think Ive ever seen a newborn with that much hair WOW lol...Congrats
  15. I read that Pat Riley wants to change the draft lottery so that ALL the teams in the league get a shot at the #1 pick. This, of course, is completely nonsensical and belies the entire point of the lottery Are you sure it was Riley? I had heard Jeff Van Gundy had said that if the NBA really wants teams to not "tank" at the end of the season, that they should let everybody in the lottery. I hadnt heard about Riley though. Either or, its a pretty stupid idea. Here you go NBA Champs, heres the number 1 pick in the draft...noway.
  16. I really hope this doesn't mean they are cutting Brown. Arch, Brown, Manning and Harris could actually make up a pretty solid safety core. I dont think they will cut him. They might ask him to restructure his contract, and Brown seems like the type that since he hasnt played much the last 2 years, he might feel like he owes them.
  17. Not a bad deal at all. Just adds more depth back there and lets hope he can return to his form from when he played for Lovie. Now thats one position we dont have to worry bout come draft time.
  18. This UNC-NC State game is amazing. Both teams are hitting big shot after big shot wow
  19. WOOOO thanks for the updates guys
  20. up 3 with 8 or 9 seconds left...UI ball Lets go UI! thanks for the updates
  21. Illinois score for those of us who live in Il and are stuck watching high school basketball.....? thanks
  22. Like I said this team pisses me off like no other. They are more talented than most of the East but yet they have games like this against the Bucks. When they get up big on their opponent they let them back in the game almost everytime, and then you have games like today where they get down big, and almost always come back but usually lose. A win is a win I guess but come on, lets get some damn consistency please. Oh by the way pretty decent game by Ben Gordon today
  23. This team pisses me off like no other.
  24. UNC up 10 on Duke with 5 mins to go in 1st half. There is twice a year when I root for UNC and this is one of them, the other being the other time they play Duke.
