  1. Oh sweet Jesus look at this quote regarding Pie. From the tribune.
  2. I want to see him play, too. But since the Cubs have other worthy options in the OF, its a tough one. Jones isn't really a CFer. Pie is the only true CFer of the 5 options. Murton, Floyd and Jones are all performing well and fairly well proven at the major league level, so I think we are likely to continue to see Pie being worked in as part of a rotation until Hendry is able to trade one of the other OFers, likelky Jones. But I understand they have too many options for the OF thats why I was behind sending Pie down to get him at bats every day. I dont like him sitting on the bench 4 days a week. So now we have Izturis(haha) and Theriot who can play short . They don't have too many options in the OF. They have 5 good, worthy-of-playing-time options, but because only one of them, Pie, is a true CFer, you can't accurately say that they have too many. That's the whole reason why Cedeno was sent down and Pie wasn't. Pie is the team's only real CF, while Cedeno, with the emergence of Theriot as an option at SS, was the third infielder who could play in the hole. Pie is also hitting better than Cedeno is right now, so the choice was clear. He might not be starting every day consistently, but he certainly wouldn't be the first top prospect rookie to be worked into the major leagues at a slightly slower pace than a full on starter. So long as he is in the rotation on a consistent basis, he should be fine. In the rotation? Has he even started this week? I think hes had maybe 3 ab's this week. Maybe Im missing a game but I dont think I am You've got to give Lou a little more time. I'm with you, if he's not in the rotation. But we can't really tell yet, can we? If he doesn't start in the next three games. Then he should be sent down. Pie coming off the bench as a pinch runner/defensive replacement/pinch hitter is dumb. He needs to play more than that. At this point, don't we have to sit back and see? Cedeno just got sent down. I was dissapointed with the choice to start DeRosa in RF today, however. With Pie on the team and Cedeno in Iowa, the Cubs can afford to keep DeRosa in the infield. But yet the first game after sending Cedeno down they put Derosa in RF like you said. Pie comes in today as another defensive replacement and then gets taken out again. Just send the kid down and let him get some abs. Then come ASB you can see how the OF is doing and go from there. Right now its just plain stupid.
  3. are len and bob trying to justify Pie's playing time saying hes getting in as a pinch runner which is good? thats stupid
  4. Or Pie in CF cause essentially thats what is happening
  5. For Christs sake why is Pie on this damn team? To be a late inning defensive replacement? Ya thats smart cause thats what he needs to work on. Jesus Its crucial to have Izturis at SS, thats why we have our 2nd baseman playing RF so Theriot can play 2nd. What a mess. Izturis is a waste of space, he cant play defense or hit so whats the point? We have 3 RF already now we have our 2nd baseman spending time out there to? There needs to be some moves made on this team soon to clear out the junk. Yea lets add one more person to the OF. This team is playing well right now, and its a good thing cause some of these decisions dont make sense.
  6. Noway Sheets is perfectly fine this year, and everything that can happen bad to Z will.
  7. There I fixed it. Bush might have a 6 ERA but its a BABIP and strand rate driven ERA. His K rate, BB rate and GB rate have all been outstanding this year and the ERA/WHIP will come around. I think the Cubs and Brewers match up pretty well, I think the Brewers have a bit more depth but the Cubs have more star power. Both teams will really be tested over the rest of the month playing a lot of top teams outside the Central so it will be very interesting to see how things end up at the end of May. LMAO. Take off those glasses bud
  8. For Christs sake why is Pie on this damn team? To be a late inning defensive replacement? Ya thats smart cause thats what he needs to work on. Jesus
  9. And the hits keep coming for the Cards. Out with a knee injury
  10. Laroche called up for the Dodgers today according to ESPN.
  11. If Pie isnt starting today, then why in the hell keep him up. Seriously this is so damn stupid to have your 22 yr old best prospect sitting on your bench. Let the kid play somewhere either here, or in Iowa. Why put Derosa in the OF when you have a surplus of OF's. Put Derosa at 2nd Theriot as SS Pie in CF and either Jones of Murton in right. Theriots D at ss is not horrible enough to justify starting Izturis.
  12. do you want to win or develop young players? Both Jones and Floyd are performing well. You seriously want to take them out and put Pie and Murton every day? Murton and his every game double-play? And Pie who's lost at teh plate? Do you not see we're on a great winning streak? Or do you prefer losses? And no I dont see we are on a great winning streak. 4 games in a row is decent, but definatly not great.

Umm you might want to read my previous posts in this thread. If they are going to play jones then fine, but send Pie down so he can get 4 ab's a game instead of 9 in a week. Him sitting on the bench is doing him no good. He has missed time in the minors so he doesnt have alot of ab's down there as it is, the kid needs to play and not watch.
  14. Pie has had 1 start since hitting the homerun last Friday. Other than that he has had no more than 2 ab's in a game. He should be down at AAA getting 4 ab's a game if they arent going to give him it here. I hate the way Lou has used Pie and Murton. Hes giving them sporadic at bats off the bench, which in turn has probably made them both press. Young kids need ab's, and especially Pie who has not had a substantial amount of ab's in the minors.
  15. Try 9 at-bats this week (dating back to last Sunday). so 9 abs in 5 games?

  17. Ya and he declined comment to the media. Hopefully he goes down and works on somethings and comes back to take Izturis's spot when he is traded for a hot dog.
  18. Awesome

  20. Ummm 4981 + 9=5000? :D
  21. No it doesnt matter at all thats why I dont know what the problem with the IBL is. The thread is going to get locked anyways since there is already a thread bout it.
  22. Is it really that big of a deal? Who cares about post count
  23. IBL check rivalries
  24. Well then freaking play Pie every damn day. Him sitting on the bench is doing him no good he needs at bats, not coming in as a pinch runner or defensive replacement. This is a dumb move if they continue to play Pie sporadicly. Pie is the better prospect than Ronny, so let the kid play somewhere, be it here or AAA.
  25. Why do you have to be so condesending in almost every post you make? You seem like an intelligent person, but you are terrible at expressing it.
