This game is close to being over We're in the 3rd inning. I'd rather save our decent relievers for games we have a chance in. Right now you just have to hope Lilly can eat some innings. It was pretty evident he had nothing when it was 3-0. By leaving him in this long its made the game pretty much over.

    15 walks through 70+ IP isn't average. So I guess walks is the only way to judge if a pitcher is average or not no, but http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/gl.cgi?n1=lillyte01&t=p&year=2007 shows he has been better than average for 8/11 starts and on his cumulative year stats. I wasnt saying one way or the other, but to say just because he had only walked 15 people he wasnt average seemed pretty silly to me.

    The only way this *might* include Jones in a trade would be if a pitcher on the current roster is also included. Otherwise, just replacing Jones' spot on the roster means the Cubs would have 13 pitchers and only 12 position players.....I don't think so! Arent we at 11 pitchers right now? Eyre Howry Demp Guz Marmol Ohman and 5 starters You forgot Wuertz. Doh I had a feeling I was forgetting somebody, and I even sat here for like 10 mins thinking about it lol
