  1. why are you always trying to start trouble? You say you are not a fan of CP, yet you start the Alex Sanchez thing, which i firmly stand behind. so what is your deal, are you a troublemaker or what? so you get to mock posters about the players they like, but you don't like it when they do it to you? so whats wrong with that?
  2. Yea the fact that Lilly gave up 5 early runs definatly should be overlooked. The offense had chances, and didnt but they still came back. Overcoming a 5 run deficit is not an easy thing to do, and we better get used to it because what we have seen the last 2 nights out of Lilly and Marquis are the real Lilly and Marquis. Its going to be brutal watching them pitch in 95 degree heat, with the wind blowing straight out.
  3. Yea his D out in right earlier in the game was beautiful. Have you seen Jones play RF lately? He misplays just about every ball hit his way. Even the routine stuff is an adventure. yea and Pagan looked just as lost
  4. did he make a good catch? just got in. no it was sarcasm. He took a horrible route to a ball and it went over his head, and I think cost the Cubs at least 1 run
  5. Yea his D out in right earlier in the game was beautiful.
  6. Looks like it only took one day lol.nice call Sunny
  7. Nice avatar but I'm surprised you haven't used something like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1d/Robcubs.jpg Who is that? Am I dumb for not knowing? The greatest kicker in the NFL...Robbie Gould
  8. On the broadcast today, they mentioned that 10 players on the team are from their own system. and the Cubs have 8 or 9 EDIT: 10 actually, assuming none of these guys came over in a trade that I don't remember: Gallagher Hill Marmol Marshall Ohman Wuertz Zambrano K Hill Theriot Pie Not one of ours. Originally a Dodger, with a couple other stops before coming here.
  9. I think if you take Peavys actions during the brawl, and his comments before the game, its absolutely ridiculous that Peavy didnt get any kind of suspension.
  10. or if people who knew the rules about attacking/insulting other posters actually followed said rules to be technically correct, I don't attack or insult the other person. I insult the argument. There's a critical difference. "You're [expletive]" =/= "That's a [expletive] statement." I make [expletive] statements, we all do. Just some more often than others
  11. 1- He is a FA at years end just like Barrett, so its not a long term solution. 2- He is nowhere near as bad defensively as Barrett. He had 7 PB in 1254 innings last year, and 6 in 544 so far this year. He did throw out 30% last season, but only 19% so far this year in stealing. Would expect that might come up a bit. Barrett is 10 in 852 last year and 8 in 466 this year. 19% and 17% in stealing throws. 3- He is struggling. .533 OPS is horrible. His .709 last year was also not good. But Kendall has always been a 2nd half hitter (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5562/splits;_ylt=An4oXuknM.zQBd6UKH5LC7SFCLcF?year=career&type=Batting) and he will be going from a 96 ballpark to a 104, so one would expect that his offense might rise as well. 4- We clear the OF out a bit and arent hamstrung by Jones next year. Lifetime #s for Kendall in Wrigley: Wrigley Field 51 179 28 50 12 2 2 28 18 17 2 4 .279 .378 .402 .780 What the hell does this have to do with anything? You have a weak argument as is, and then throw something like that in even makes your argument even more invalid. Lifetime stats at a ballpark mean jack squat, just ask Jeff Blauser
  12. Hes out of options though, so after they call him up hes there to stay or they risk losing him. He also seems like an all or nothing guy at the plate from the last time I seen his stats.
  13. You must have missed his, "Im Jake Peavy, do you know who I am"? I cant remember the rest of what happened but I know Raisin does.
  14. Like I said, I'm all for a Kobe to Chicago trade that's clearly a win for the Bulls. Would you do something like I suggested here?
  15. I just heard an interview with Tommie. He swears the whole thing was a big joke, and that the media is trying to turn this into something. Tommie said that during the entire interview Mcnabb was standing behind the media listening, and they both had big smirks on their faces. Tommie will be hosting Chicago Tribune Live on Thursday I believe, so Im sure he will address this more then. Ya, they played an interview with Rex on ABC 7 news, and as Rex explained that Harris was joking and called Tommie his "guy", Tommie walked up and called Rex his "guy" too, and the both of them walked into the training facility laughing and giving the media a get outta here type of wave as they turned... it was pretty funny. were they holding hands and grabbing each others asses as well?
  16. How cogent is my Wolves of the East example? Very. Gutting the entire team for Kobe isn't a good idea. If the Bulls enter next season with something like Duhon-Bryant-Nocioni-Brown(?)-Wallace, I don't think they're much better off, and they are certainly worse off long term. I would think Kobe could be had without totally gutting the team. maybe Gordon, Deng and Duhon/Hinrich for Kobe and a throw-in. Then draft the best available PG. That would leave Conley/Law/Hinrich/Duhon, Bryant, Nocioni, Thomas and Wallace. I think if Bryant were aquired, it would negate the need to draft a scorer like Julian Wright. Waht Kobe was missing in L.A. post-Shaq was a good point and a competent inside game. He would have both in that scenario, IMO. I think any deal for Kobe, the 9 pick goes to the Lakers.
  17. There is no chance that would be the team. One of Hinrich or Gordon will be here. One of Deng or Thomas would be as well, I believe. I've seen a lot of suggested trades involving one of the guards, Deng, Thomas, and this year's first rounder. Thats too much in my opinion from the Bulls standpoint. 1 of the guards 1 of Deng or Thomas, 9 pick, and maybe a future number 1 is what Id be wiling to give.
  18. corn is freaking delicious. I don't remember who I voted for in this one, but if I had a second vote, it would be for corn. Not for you. For corn. You'd just be the lucky beneficiary. I had roasted corn on the cob at the Chiefs game Sat night.YUMMMM I'm just trying to figure out what SSR is trading it for. Gold Bullion? Uncut pink diamonds? Enriched uranium? This is corn, people. You don't just give it away for nothing. He trades it for middle infielders and set-up men. To bad we he couldnt get Hendry to trade it for Jones and Izturis

  21. That's the story we're being sold at the moment. I get the feeling he probably did sit up and realise that he wasn't doing everything he could do - be it injury related (which means we'll reap the problems with it later) or a mental issue (in which case, kudos thus far). For now, I'm going to appreciate what we've got, and hold off the questions until they need to be asked. I dont know I bought the injury thing at the beginning of the season, but Z was throwing 96 in the 9th inning in his last start. You cant do that if you are injured.
  22. I like the idea as well. Id love to go back and see the thread of when Hoops broke Lee for Choi, and the 2003 playoff games as well
