  1. I haven't been following the game thread until now, but if people are laying that on Kendall, they're being simply ridiculous. short hop on a throw from Soriano. It's not a difficult hop at all if Kendall is actually in position. I know, he was wandering off into right field. what the hell are you talking about. he was standing at the corner of the plate, right where he should have been. Look again, he was standing behind home plate up the left field line.

Yea its stupid of us to expect a major league catcher to come up with a short hop. If Soto had done it, not one word would have been uttered. Riiiight, and you know this how?

  4. By the way, is Sean Gallagher still on this team? He hasnt even seen the field since he got called back up has he?
  5. Len and Bob are in full ass kissing mode of Jason Kendall, he can do no wrong tonight.
  6. Brenly, the former catcher, is making every single excuse he can think of to make in Kendalls defense.
  7. Didnt Kendall wear the armor when he was with the Pirates? I remember him being hit all the time, and I swear he had padding on his arm
  8. I still cant believe the Bucks drafted him, even though he never even worked out for them.
  9. Great post Coach
  10. Eh, it would be nice to get Eyre replaced. I have no problem with a better right handed reliever taking his place. Eyre isnt really a problem on this team, since hes been relegated to mop up duty. He's not a problem, but if we could get another good arm in the pen for a reasonable price I don't see why we should pass up on it, even with Wood and Dempster coming back. Meh, Id rather work on SS or OF and leave the bullpen alone. I think we can fill the bullpen in house, and dont really want to give up anything to get a bullpen guy.

  12. Why do people seem to think we need another reliever? Not necessarily talking about this deal, but I keep hearing people say we need another reliever. Why? Our bullpen has completely righted the ship since earlier in the year, and is actually a strength right now.
  13. the future? unless im mistaken he's a free agent after this season. I don't think he's a very good player anymore but this isnt the worst deal hes done. the money isnt an issue for the Cubs and its a buy low chance. there's a pretty damn good chance kendalls obp is .340+ the rest of the season. power? no but as long as hes not an auto out im happy. There really are uninformed fans here...first thing A's and Pirates are basically paying for Kendall, Cubs getting $1M, second he is FA after this year, no risk. 3rd Bowen was simply a body and some knowledge regarding what SD knows on Hill...Blevins is not a real prospect of note, a chance average FB, change and curve. That all said, what Kendall has is a CERA...best in baseball, hmmm that is not an offensive number for the fantasy heads, and he did have a good June at the plate, back at his usual numbers. ... You are showing just how uniformed the fans are, by using the ridiculous CERA stat, but thanks for showing how "informed" you are.
  14. Lets see, have Aram run as hard as he can, and hurt the knee that isnt still fully healed, and he misses the rest of the season, or sometimes jog out of the bos so he is here for the rest of the season? I think its pretty obvious
  15. Wouldn't you rather have Soto playing everyday in the minors, in anticipation of fighting for the starter's spot next year? Folks always seem to hate having the younger kids on the roster sitting on the bench. Soto would get sparse PT behind Kendall. Not necessarily. Kendall should get plenty of regular days off -- more than Barrett did, because he's old for a catcher. Blanco is probably going to be back soon. In the mean time, we need to field the best team possible. In general, you are correct, you should let the kids play in AAA rather than rot on the bench, but Soto is a huge upgrade over Hill, and a further two weeks with reasonably regular playing time until Blanco comes back won't hurt Soto's development. I also think that Soto's probably learned all there is to learn in AAA since he's repeating the league. Im not so sure about that. Blanco had another setback in his rehab, and it had nothing to do with his neck this time. Now he is feeling pain in the shoulder area, so predicting when hes back is hard to do right now.
  16. No manager is perfect. Lou has made some good moves lately, but he still has his faults. Bunting with DeRo last night, to get to a guy hitting .220? Stupid I agree. However, people ignore the good moves he makes, and then just focus on one or two bad ones and then decide he sucks. I see this happening literally all the time, with every manager. It's overkill, and ridiculous. When things are going good the manager usually gets too much of the credit, and when things are going bad, the manager usually gets too much blame. Its comes with the job

  18. Well this is interesting. Yi's Chinese team is now saying it will block his move to the States, because the Bucks "aren t best" for Yi. Wow http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2939260
  19. Skip Bayless enough said. He has a personal grudge against the Cubs, and hes a loud mouth babbling bafoon plain and simple. Basically, whatever he says take the exact opposite, and thats probably more right then this jackass.
