    Hes falling behind hitters. thats the first thing he usually does before losing it. He's fallen behind one of the three hitters he's faced this inning. Like I said thats the first sign lol. All day long hes been ahead.

    He is - someone posted the technicalities behind it somewhere on the board awesome. Yeah awesome, you really think Lou will take him over a veteran backup catcher?Why wouldn't he? He's been going with Soto over Blanco for awhile now, why would he change that if Soto keeps hitting? Why would we go with Tracshel over Marshall when Marshall has had a very good season? I'm not trying to take anything away from Marshall, but 7-8 with a 4.00 ERA isn't "very good." It's decent, but not very good. Find me another 5th starter in baseball who has an ERA 4 or under. Im not going to comment on the record cause his record is meaningless. Yes, he's done what a 5th starter is supposed to do, but illiniguy said he's been "very good," which is not the case. Very good is an ERA around 3.00, not 4.00. Then there are hardly any very good pitchers in baseball. Marshall has done his job and was demoted for it, and for a lesser guy at that all because the other guy had "experience".

    He did? Where? I must've missed it. That's good news! He didnt say that. Its speculation at this point, and there is still 1 more game the rest of the year when they will need somebody besides Z Lilly Marquis and Hill. My guess is Trachsel gets at least 1 more start.

I realized I should've added that after I posted, but my point is still that Marshall hasn't been very good. He's been decent. Hes been the best #5 starter in the NL, and possibly majors. Thats pretty damn good.

    Probably zero. The Cubs were winning games between Kendall and Barrett. Hill had a winning record as a catcher, by a nice margin. I'm not saying Hill gets the credit, I'm saying the team was winning regardless, so I don't see any real opportunity cost. I suppose the team wins-more in the same game, which doesn't matter at all. The entire Soto craze is way overblown. It's like a bride anticipating a dream wedding that will never happen the way its projected. Still overblown?3-3 so far thats not too bad I guess
