  1. LMAO at Ronny, "thats why hes got the name bulldog, cause he is a bulldog!" I hate not seeing this the radio is too suspenseful Jesus
  2. I just got in been listening on the radio since for some damn reason the game is blacked out in Galesburg when we dont even get WCIU, what a bunch of crap. But all I have to say is GEOVANY SOTO!
  3. Kendall has been awesome for 1 month. The other 2 months his OPS is in the 5's thats not good. Couple that with his terrible defense and inability to throw out King Kong Bundy trying to steal, and his performance with the Cubs has been subpar. There is plenty of reason to believe Soto could have put up better numbers on the average then Jason Kendall. Additionally, regardless of Soto's production, we would have a much better idea of what to do for Catcher next year. Ya, that is exactly what I am thinking about these last 2 months. And by the way, I still think Kendall has been awesome for this team Then you have very low standards His offense has been just fine. There have been 36 catchers with at least 200 plate appearances this year, and Kendall would rank 12th in OPS and tied for 3rd in OBP among them with his time in the Cubs. So his offense has been well above average for the catcher position. Then it just depends on how much you think catcher's defense is normally, how much the fact that these pitchers cannot hold anybody on plays in, and how you value each part of the defense. His throws have been beyond horrible. His blocking has been ok but nothing great. All the pitchers say they love throwing to him. You have to put all those components together, and then figure out how much that devalues his offense. How can you say his offense has been fine? His Aug 900 OPS was great but July and Sept are sub 600, to go along with the rest of his year only having 1 month above 600. I think its a pretty safe assumption that Aug was a hot streak, and he has now cooled back down to the normal Jason Kendall. And to say he would rank 12th in OPS for catchers is basically a knock on how terrible the catching position is offensively around the league. 1 900 OPS 2 800 OPS hitting catchers and then everything else is 790 or below. My point in all this goes back to the original post saying we are all naive if we think Soto could pan out. I dont think its a large assumption to think Soto could have put up a better OPS then Kendall this year. And even if he was right at Kendalls(which I dont think he would be worse) his defense is heads and shoulders above Kendalls.
  4. Soto better be starting tonight by the way. Also is there anyway to see if Soto faced Shearn this year in the minors?

  7. LOL wow. Why are some of you whining? If the Cubs dont make the playoffs its their own fault. They face Tom Shearn tonight, and then the Pitt rotation. Yea Pitt is throwing 3 lefties at us, you know what, big deal. Its the Cubs fault they are in this position nobody elses. Woody Williams? Are we really pissed about Woody Williams?
  8. It blows my mind that people think the higher-ups will still be there once the new owner takes over. This is the last year the Tribune is going to own the team. There is a very good chance this sale doesnt go thru untill right before the start of next season.
  9. I can't be too upset with Lou for that. Z had gotten 6 outs in a row (5 batters) and his pitches were looking better in the 5th. He had 2 hard hit outs out of those 5 batters. It's not a situation where Lou is suddenly going to pull him If I recall every out in the 5th was a hard hit ball. Nope, the first one was an easy groundout to first base. Are you sure? Isnt that the one DLee had to go back on and down on his knee with Z covering?

  11. Especailly when its kendall who knows first hand just how hard that throw to 1st on a dropped 3rd strike is .....Oh wait no its just hard for Kendall
  12. Why? Hes already said hes playing.
  13. Jesus CHrist what a terrible approach from Theriot and Lee. Take some damn pitches
  14. Sheets=injury prone. I want to see the Brewer fans try to say hes not
  15. And those were strikes for Harang blue
  16. GET HIS ASS OUT OF THERE!
  17. Same can be said for Lou regarding Z. It usually never ends well It comes down to whether or not you want Lilly/Z to make the majority of the starts the rest of the way or Marquis/Trachsel/Marshall combo. What it comes downs to is our starting rotation has been good to great all year, and for some reason Lou decided to completely overmanage this last month by not sticking with what got us here.
  18. Great AB Aram that was a thing of beauty
  19. Same can be said for Lou regarding Z. It usually never ends well
  20. Vargas will prob go 7 shutout innings
  21. Im jealous of pitchers who dont suck
  22. So both pitchers pitching on short rest give up runs early. Peavy sucks when he did it also, Im thinking this experiment needs to stop. Nice AB Theriot beautiful
