does anyone think that jim hendry shovels his own driveway? he doesn't look like he's gotten that much exercise in the past 10 years. He probably pays a ten year old down the street named Brian Roberts to shovel his snow. Since he sees how hard the kid works, he wants to acquire the Orioles' Brian Roberts. I bet Theriot with all his hustle and grit gets out there and shovels his driveway for him, I mean there has to be a reason they dont want to replace him right?

Lots were clamoring for Theriot when Izturis was the other option. Theriot was a better choice than Izturis. That doesn't mean SS isn't a hole for the Cubs. Yeah, Riot was a much better option than Izzy. However, that doesn't exactly say how good he is. He's average at best. We could get by with him at SS, but an upgrade is entirely possible. Whats funny and gets lost in the shuffle is that Theriots and Izturis's numbers on the year were pretty damn close, but yet I dont hear any of the Theriot backers saying Izturis is good. If it wasnt for Theriots 1 month, the guy was downright horrible. He had 1 good month and thats what he is getting by on, because our GM sees that instead of the rest of the season.

nah not likely, TSN prefers defense over offense. Soto and Blanco are both pretty damn good defensivley, and the fact that Soto should actually produce some offense, its very likely the Cubs will have the 2nd or 3rd best production in the NL from Catcher. I can't accept that Soto will produce offensively yet. Not a big enough sample size @ MLB level. Here's hoping he does, he would be an amazing NL catcher if he brought his defense to the table and doubled it up with a little O. You don't think Soto can put up a .700 OPS next season? That would qualify as producing offensively for a catcher. Exactly, its not that hard to be an average or above average catcher, as most of them are all defense and no offense.

Dusty is a terrible manager and if somebody thinks otherwise, well they are a moron. HIs veteran fetish, constant abuse of pitchers, and complete and utter disregard for OBP will show Reds fans us Cubs fans do know what we are talking about. We all said Giants fans were wrong when warning us, but they were extremely right. Keep up that optimism though.

I could care less about it now. I am trying to concentrate instead upon the fact that on that night we had the best freshman on the court. Hopefully Weber will see that and start giving him the bulk of the minutes. There is no reason McCamey shouldn't start from this point forward. This season is over. Tisdale needs to play over Pruitt as well. Thanks Shawn, those 3 clutch free throws pretty much were your career in a nut shell. It's crazy that McCamey has come off the bench for most of the season. Chester Frazier is terrible, McCamey has a great future. I have no idea what purpose it served to announce that you and your family are going to a game. Yea McCamey looks like he could be a real good one by the time he leaves Champaign. Its going to be fun to see him play with some talented players in the coming years.

Does it matter when he flipped off anybody? Hes a parent, an adult, and if I were Eric Id be beyond embarrassed. And Ive also read that during and before the game he was telling Illinois fans to F off, even fans who came up to him wishing Eric good fortunes. The media(ESPN) got exactly what they wanted from all this. They constantly tried showing the "feud" and the attention whore, and telling half the story. But hey I bet the next time IU-UI play, there will be people who watch because of ESPN's "show" they tried putting on the other night.

The story also mentioned that the referee warned Frazier for the bump, but decided against calling a technical foul for it because he had never called a technical for something that happened before a game, although it was within his discretion to do so. Shortstop never was a priority. I don't know why this whole Greene thing got started _ just because he didn't agree to an extension? There's time for that. The Padres don't need to move him. The ship sailed on Tejada awhile back. I never heard Renteria's name talked about seriously. Typical Cubs. Any word on if they will give Derosa a shot at SS if they can get Roberts? I doubt they'd try to make him their full-time shortstop. If they keep Cedeno and he has a great spring, I could see him starting and Theriot falling into the utility role. I really hope thats right, but it sure seems like the Cubs have a major hard on for Theriots mediocrity.
