  1. .305 .371 .452 .823 You won't take that as a lefty-masher line from half of a CF platoon? Id like to know where you are getting those numbers from because they arent Reed Johnsons against a lefty. .255 .375 .298!!!! for a .673 OPS is his numbers on the year. His OPS against a lefty is barely better than his OPS against a righty. EDIT: Ok those are his career numbers nevermind. Well hes nowere close to performing to those numbers in a Cubs uniform.
  2. Wind blowing in huh. Its a good thing cause Marquis isnt fooling anyone, and missing his spots by a mile. Ha and the Cards get lucky again and miss Peavy now, of course.
  3. Well, that was ignorance at its finest that turns into some pure luck. wow. Oh by the way can we stop acting like Reed Johnson isnt terrible? Lefty, Righty, it doesnt matter hes terrible.
  4. Chill? I dont see anybody thats having a raging fit, just some questioning of some pretty dumb moves. Right. They are the hottest team in baseball and we are picking apart every little mistake. Good news is that we might only get to do that a total of 70 or so times this season. My point is that you should go and find a manager who doesn't make this sort of mistake every now and again over 162 games. I don't think its been a consistent issue. Well that is where we differ, because you call the mistakes made by Lou "little", where in my opinion those mistakes had a pretty big effect on the outcome of the game. Fukus bunt attempt was a big part of the game, and letting Johnson face a righty in the 9th inning, when you have a left handed hitter on the bench, was a big part of the game. And on another note, the Reed Johnson lovefest is reaching Neifi levels by Lou. Johnsons numbers are HORRIBLE, and thats against LH and RH pitching. For the month of May Johnson is hitting .191 .269 .319 with a putrid .588 OPS, but yet we send our top prospect down. If it wasnt for Johnsons .375 OBP against LH pitching, his numbers would be Neifiesque. And yes these mistakes Lou keeps making are pretty consistent. Bad bullpen decisions, overmanaging, and playing Johnson.
  5. Maybe Edmonds was too busy [insert homosexual joke] to pinch hit Actually without the joke it may very well have been a situation where Edmonds wasnt ready to hit at that time. The folks that do know wont ever tell, but since we all are doing a great job with our lives lets take a little time and take turns managing the Cubs. ](*,) Yup thats what I thought, there really is no defense for the moves. Lou messed up 2 pretty obvious, big gametime decisions. Im not even sure what it means to say Edmonds wasnt ready to hit at that time. He was on the 25 man gametime roster, in uniform, not injured, and getting paid, not sure what more he would have to do to be more ready. Oh and it was nice of the media to not even bother asking Lou why he'd let a RH Reed Johnson face a righty when he has another CF whos LH on the bench.
  6. Chill? I dont see anybody thats having a raging fit, just some questioning of some pretty dumb moves.
  7. Anybody care to defend Lou having his number 5 hitter sacrifice bunt? How about defending him for letting Reed Johnson face Capps, whos a RH pitcher, when we just signed a guy who bats left handed to platoon with Reed? Good job Lou
  8. Why the hell is Jim Edmonds not batting Lou?
  9. Yea cause we may lose with Z pitching there is no chance we'd win with Marquis right? Just like the other night when we lost to Shawn Estes, but beat Peavy? Your over the top exaggeration in every post is ridiculous, and annoying.
  10. Well we better win it in the 9th or 10th, because if we dont its Chad Fox time.
  11. Got to try tagging on that. Fuku has enough speed to make it to 3rd if its over his head
  12. Its also the 1st sac bunt attempt. His others he has tried bunting for a hit
  13. God I hate the sac bunt. Let him try bunting for a hit it usually works better.
  14. Yup so now who comes in tomorrow when Marquis sucks? Good call Lou Chad Fox (lol). There's no reason why Lieber can't pitch tomorrow if he's only going one inning today. I think Lieber is in for the long haul today as our options right now are Fox, and Marmol, who is the "closer" today. Liebers in it to win it
  15. Damn Im glad Brenly didnt get the managers job, he has such a veteran fetish its unreal.
  16. Yup so now who comes in tomorrow when Marquis sucks? Good call Lou
  17. That damn pitch has been a strike all day blue
  18. Ok this is the hottest Ive ever seen anybody, ANYBODY!!! UNREAL
  19. Lol maybe you should start a "Get Lee off this team" thread. Hell no. I know he'll get hot. I'm 100% on DLee's side. I'm just point out how bad his slump has gotten. It's been like 3 years since the last time DLee's avg was below .300 this late in the season. Hey it worked for Sori
  20. Im going out on a huge limb here and saying we win this game, and Jim Edmonds has a big part in the win....
  21. Lol maybe you should start a "Get Lee off this team" thread.
  22. Bob shut up about the [expletive] bat break and quit ignoring that Z was pitching bad before he did that Jesus
