  1. Yea I agree that it would be hard for Stl to trade Rasmus right now, but it shouldnt be "easy" to obtain a guy like Halladay. Brett Wallace is nice, but again if Im the Jays, its Rasmus or no deal. As thin as the SP market is and considering Halladay is arguably the best starter in the game with time left on his contract, a guy like Rasmus would just be the starting point. I sincerely doubt anyone is getting him without giving up young, quality MLB talent. To give an idea, I think a team like the Brewers would have to give up Prince + Gamel or Escobar and some throw-ins. J.P. Ricciardi is squarely in the driver's seat here. Yea I was in noway trying to say itd be Rasmus for Halladay straight up. Im saying Rasmus would be the starting point for me if Im the Jays, and then go from there, but he wouldnt be traded to Stl without Rasmus in the deal if Im Ricciardi.
  2. I will be at this game. Why Im wasting my time I really have no idea.
  3. He was on the top step of the dugout arguing with the umps. I understand that, but my God thats such a horse crap call come on the field. I know it really doesnt mean much, but its not like Fuku can argue since he barely speaks English. At least come out of the dugout.
  4. Glad to see Lou sit on his ass once again. Thats 2 blown calls at 2nd base this series.
  5. Game is getting ready to start, tarp off field! GO CUBS
  6. Id rather take my chances against Atl, with Kawakami pitching, then having to give up another off day later on, and possibly have to face Vasquez again.
  7. I think they will wait for quite awhile to get this game in.
  8. Pretty cool little piece on Brenly and his son. First time I have seen it.
  9. Apparently he hurt it in BP, and oblique injurys are very touchy. If this lasts long, we dont have much catcher depth in the minors.

  11. Any word on how long the delay is expected to be? With Geo out and Kevin Hart on the mound, I wouldn't be too upset if this game got washed away. Id rather not have another rainout.
  12. For some of you Illinois high school basketball fans, here is a good article about ex High school phenom Ronnie Fields. The kid was an absolute badass, and glad to see hes doing ok in his life. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/basketball/ncaa/07/02/fields/
  13. Any word on how long the delay is expected to be? Not sure yet, but I dont think its going to be long.
  14. If Im the Bluejays I dont trade Halladay to Stl without getting Rasmus back, plain and simple.
  15. So because Soto cant play, it means Theriot has too? Guess Lou feels with Sotos bat out of the lineup he needed another bat in there. So much for Bradley in the 2 spot
  16. Ill be there Friday, and I had full intentions of booing the hell out of him lol. Although Im sure the majority of morons there would cheer him like they did late in the game when he pinch hit for Cleve.
  17. Why not? I was going to ask this as well, Kawakami is pretty terrible on the road, 6 HR in 36IP, 5+ ERA, there's real no real reason the Cubs shouldn't touch him up for 5+ runs. The Cubs have to come out today, and be patient. Kawakami will walk you if you let him, which is another reason I like Fuku and Bradley 1-2. I think we do alright today, and Hart gives up like 3 runs in 6 innings.
  18. Man Im surprised Soriano is getting another day off, but I love Bradley hitting in the 2 hole. It should eliminate the chance of Lou sacrificing early in the game again, and it takes advantage of Bradleys main skill hes had this year, getting on base. I wish they would put him there and leave him there even when Theriot is in the lineup. I expected ARam to get today off so he could have 2 days off in a row, but he must be feeling pretty good, so thats a good thing.
  19. 1st, what does Harden being Canadian have to do with anythign? Secondly, noway in hell Id do that deal for a 32 yr old pitcher who has thrown a ton of pitches and innings. Thirdly, we need offense, not starting pitching, even with Demp on the 15 day DL
  20. Didnt Z throw like close to 120 pitches on Friday? UGH I dont like this
