  1. Enjoy Illinois fans. Here is a great article on Jerrance, with quotes from Richmond and Head. I really hope hes here to stay, and takes over for Bruce eventually. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/columns/story?columnist=powers_scott&id=4327622 And heres an article about Weber, and his recruiting of 8th and 9th graders now. http://www.sportingnews.com/college-basketball/article/2009-07-13/webers-quick-strike-tactics-finally-paying-off-for-illini
  2. Ive been saying it since the draft, I think we got the steal of the draft with Johnson.
  3. I'm not denying that. Simply saying that they have dealt with injuries. You seem to be completely ignoring that fact. I'm not saying the Cardinals deserve sympathy for their injuries. Again, simply stating that they've had quite a few, which makes your "the Cubs have only been healthy for two days" argument a moot point. The fact that a "star" player has sucked is a completely different point. In fact, that's what I was saying when I said that this payroll should produce more depth. Funny, your argument was that the Cubs were ravaged by injuries. Now you're changing your tune to "well we've had players who have sucked." Interesting that you'd be using that argument, since it's EXACTLY what I said in my previous post. Lohse was out for over a month. He also got skipped a few times earlier in the season due to soreness. In his place, the Cardinals started Brad Thompson. When Lohse went to the DL, the Cubs were 3 games behind the Cardinals. As of now, they're 3.5 games. I don't think we can pin the Cardinals's success on Kyle Lohse performing better than you expected him to. Again, what happens in the 2nd half isn't really the issue, since we're discussing why the teams are where they are at this moment. You made the simplistic argument that it came down to one team being injured. I simply pointed out that that argument has no merit, as the other team has also suffered greatly from injuries You have to at least admit that us losing our best player for almost two months is a pretty big deal. I wonder what your year would look like without Pujols for a couple of months? Hopefully we find out in 2011. Wow that's kind of a White Sox move, wishing harm to a player Hes not wishing harm to a player, 2011 is when Pujols's contract is up.
  4. They're not going to get Halladay. What makes you say this? They have the prospects to get it done and could still use the help in their rotation.
  5. that's because the season is over half over and Pedro's leverage is significantly less than it was if the offseason There was still reports as of a couple weeks ago of it costing 5 mil or so for Pedro. My point is it doesnt look like money was the reason for the Cubs not signing Pedro.
  6. Yea for those who are saying the Cubs didnt sign Pedro because of money, I highly doubt that. Pedro just passed his physical for the Phils, and his contract is worth.......1 million! With 1.5 in incentives. 1 million bucks is all it took for Pedro, wow.
  7. Pretty damn cool for that kid to be out there running the bases amongst all these Celebs and Hall of Famers.
  8. Well he is good friends with the other Stl attention whore.
  9. Agreed shes got some junk in that trunk. Did Erin Andrews just say she thinks Bobby Knight could get 1 up if he wanted to? HAHA
  10. Nelly crushed that one
  11. Backstreet boy got a huge ovation? HAHAHA
  12. LMAO at Knight. Ump said he was waiting for a chair to come out lol.
  13. Can they just show Erin giving interviews, and not the person she is interviewing?
  14. Whatever you say Keener. It's your evening. Good night. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51524&p=1981150#p1981150 So you wished the Cubs luck once do you want a damn cookie? In any other discussion that you have joined in, you are a trolling homer.
  15. we have a lot to go off of. Fuld has a long career in the minors and has proven he can't hit. His career minor league line is .287/.370/.404. I wouldnt call that proving he cant hit. While its nice to have the high OPS guys at the heart of your lineup Id prefer the high avg. guys at the top of it. Ryan Theriots career minor league line was .271/.355/.337, and like him or hate him, he is becoming a very solid major league hitter despite the fact that hes not the high OPS type. Assuming what weve seen from Fuld is the real deal, a Fuld-Theriot 1-2 is more of a traditional top of the order with the big boppers coming up behind them. Am I saying that what weve seen from Sam Fuld is what we can expect in the future? Maybe, maybe not, but Id sure like to give him a chance and find out, especially while Kosuke isnt exactly smoking the ball. If I recall correctly those career minor league numbers are inflated from the lower minors, and his numbers at higher levels are not good. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that.
  16. Like I said [expletive] off. You are at a Cubs board, are you really that ignorant? Yeah I did. Because you are. And I'll remind you next time you show up there. It's the HR derby and the Cubs don't have anyone in it. Jealous whiner. Sad. Classic. You are the sad one bud. Why dont you take your homer ass back to Gateway, and shut the [expletive] up. You have been here 4 years and trolled the entire 4 years. I dont mind Stl fans here like Wolf, NPC, ManEatingTarp, and Michael, but you can go [expletive] youself.
  17. Just poking fun at all of the Milton Bradley sucks, he's an average hitter without Arlington posts. I thought thats what you were doing, but there hadnt been anything said about Milton sucks recently so I wasnt sure.
  18. It's a Cubs board. And I've been here 4 years with a couple posts here and there. I usually love this board. Of course I've never quite been treated like this. Poor you
  19. Faceman wrote this at Gateway.... Like I said [expletive] off. You are at a Cubs board, are you really that ignorant?
  20. I know we cant all be the best fans in baseball like you sorry. By the way, [expletive] off
  21. you don't think they should? should they go to the replay? I dont know about right now, but in years past they have had a umpire out by the wall ruling each hit a HR. But Im sure the ump would have just bowed down to the Great One.
  22. Heh I love that they had to cheat just to give Pujols a chance to make it to the 2nd round. Thats fantastic!
  23. Did they really count that HR that the fan caught as a HR?
  24. Whats Lance doing? :D
  25. Berman...WAYYYYYY BACK....it landed in the 4th row what a [expletive] douche
