  1. I love that wins is his justification. That and he's been an excellent guy. Yea using wins and the fact that he never answered the question really.
  2. Why do we have a 7 game roadtrip in January?
  3. I mentioned this fact a couple of days ago. My ideal situation would be Holliday is superman for his stay in St. Louis, but the Cards miss the playoffs, and Holliday goes to a team like the Yankees or the Red Sox (where they would get two low picks, at most for Holliday, and neither player would be better then Brett Wallace). But who knows what will happen. I think the Texas teams could be dark horses. How about a Cruz/Hamilton/Holliday OF in Arlington? Yikes. The Rangers have money coming off the books, and could make a run at Halladay as well. The Rangers may have money coming off the books, but didnt they also need MLB to help them financially this year? If they did, I hadn't heard. They seemed willing to take on Halladay's contract, so they must not be hurting too much. I'm not familiar with the Rangers' financial situation other than their current payroll and past spending habits, so I may be way off here. Heres an article discussing the Rangers needing MLB help financially. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ge-rangershicks070209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

  5. Tommy Hansen, Wells, Happ should be the top 3 right now. There really hasnt been any everyday players as rookies who have put up good numbers for an extended amount of time in my opinion. I think a pitcher deserves ROY this year no doubt.
  6. I doubt that, hes there to platoon with Fontenot at 2nd against leftys. Id guess Shark goes back down, especially if the starters manage to eat some innings the next few game or 2, or they send down Fuld.
  7. 2 walks isnt pretty, but minor league umpires its hard telling. Im guessing he still didnt break 90 though.
  8. Id be really tempted to see what Cashner could do out of the pen for the rest of the year.
  9. Hes hitting a HR every 10 at bats or so, considering hes not getting consistent at bats thats pretty impressive.
  10. He'd never make it there even if the Cubs wanted to try. The bullpen has sure been streaky. After 2 months of dominance, the last few days have been brutal. No options I forgot. Well then DL him for 15 days and work with him on the side. He can not be used in a close game
  11. Seriously send him to the minors. Ive seen enough of him for a couple weeks.
  12. Go back to Iowa for a couple weeks Marmol
  13. This is ridiculous. If Bradley couldnt handle the pressure, why in the hell is he OPS'ing almost 950 at home, and only 590 on the road? Shouldnt that be the other way around if his performance was because of too much pressure? I love how we have so many psychologists around here. From Latroy, to Hill, to Bradley, they just keep evaluating their mental make up having never met the person. Give me a break.
  14. My fault. Tomorrow is his turn to start and I should have just checked my rotation rather than go with what MiLB.com had. You are FIRED!
  15. While Im not saying he throws meatballs every time, hes allowed 10HR in under 50 innings, and RH hitters are OPS'ing almost 800 against him, thats not good.
  16. Seriously, is he brain-dead? who was a more viable option? Marshall?Guzman?Stevens? if you say so. Heilman sucks, but it's not like Lou has a pen of lights out middle relievers Mashall has been lights out in the pen. Guzman has been damn near lights out in the pen. And from what little we have seen of Stevens, hes shown hes got better stuff than Aaron [expletive] Heilman. We have seen enough of Heilman this year to know he [expletive] blows. Its Bob Howry all over again this year, Lou just keep throwing him out there, regardless of the results.

  18. Well he's been a hell of a lot better than Wood at a lower price, for one thing. Itd probably help if Wood was actually getting some kind of consistent saves oppurtunitys.
  19. Stl is off tomorrow so if we win tomorrow we will be back in 1st.
  20. Damn did Gregg get away with one there wow.
  21. oh, it could definitely hurt Just like him playing at third cost us a bunch of games, right? Playing him at third, a position at which he has a decent amount of experience and the correct skillset to play at an even acceptable level is a completely different animal than putting him at second. I'd say he'd be about as successful at second as Geovany Soto. There is a reason why big bulky power hitters tend to be corner IF/OF, just like theres a reason why power hitting SS/2B tend to move to the corners later in their careers (ex. ARod) ARod is not a good example of that. The only reason he moved to 3rd base was because of the Yankees infatuation with God Derek Jeter.
