  1. I've really grown to appreciate him too. I wonder if Brenly's going to get jumped by anyone on the team. You'd really have to wonder if he would get a chance to manage the team is Lou retires, which I fully expect him to do. The Cubs are a reflection of him right now. He seems very matter of fact this year and so does this team. Injuries aside, they have looked like a mediocre team all year long. I want Bob to stay in the booth. Give the job to Trammel if they want to stay in house. If not there are other guys out there who Id take. At this point, Id throw a bucket full of money at Larussa, ever though I hate the bastard, but his teams sure as hell dont underperform like this. I hear Bobby Valentine wants to come back to our side of the pond after this season. Id be very interested in him as well

  3. Hopefully Lou is the one getting canned This really isn't Lou's fault. Blame the architect of the team. They all hold blame, and Lou is the one who immediately started on the whole"get more left handed" thing. The players have definately underperformed, but Lou has underperformed as well in my opinion.
  4. Hopefully Lou is the one getting canned
  5. Haha The Bad News [expletive] Bears, for Christs sake, this is ridiculous
  6. Seriously, this is wasting everyone's time. Seriously.
  7. Swing swing swing Jakey. You are allowed to take some pitches Jake
  8. So do the Brewers :D
  9. Hell he drops too many balls for my liking, and Im not the one throwing the passes.
  10. Dusty Bakers Reds vs St Louis Cueto vs Lohse Cincy up early 1-0
  11. Except for the Illini, yea thats pretty ugly. However most conferences are as bad as that the 1st week of the season.
  12. Im hoping Im still able to! Check your PM's, Ive got a sick kid, waiting on call back from my mom to see if she can watch him. If not, Im going to be stuck at home. Ill let you know ASAP
  13. Dont forget the call in yesterdays Cubs/Rockies game. That was horrible.
  14. You bring so much to this board it really is amazing. Do you contribute anything to this board other than being a smartass dick all the time?
  15. If we win today we have a roadtrip of 5-5. I know we all would like to have better, but playing .500 on the road is really what you are supposed to do. If we come home and have a 5-1 homestand, Ill be pretty happy with this stretch of the schedule.
  16. From the sound of it, the back was not an issue all week and didn't bother him. He apparently re-aggravated it sometime before the game (probably on a BP swing or something) and couldn't pitch. If that's the case, there's no sense in treating his back if it's not bothering him at all. I disagree with that. If your ace pitcher, who you owe a lot of money too, has to leave a game early because of back problems, it only makes sense to be precautionary and give his back some treatment. I dont care if Z said he felt better than ever, injuries dont usually just disappear, so be on the safe side and give him some treatment.
  17. By the way, lol @ detroit. Eh, they overpaid for a couple guys but at least they overpaid for younger guys who still have some upside and are fairly sure bets to continue to produce at the levels they have. Charlie V is brutal defensively but I love him offensively and he's solid on the boards. He can be really good on the offensive end and if they can get him to commit defensively (not likely) he's a bargain. They basically positioned themselves to be a 4-6 seed for the next few years. Which can basically be NBA hell. But they can't afford to tank and rebuild or they'll sell 7,500 seats per game. They need to get lucky at one spot. I think he was loling at the Ben Wallace signing. Mike Aller can see into the future? :D
  18. ridiculuos sort of what I was referring to there Im saying its ridiculous to get upset about them stealing. 5 run leads with 3 innings to go arent insurmountable.
  19. We went from having the shallowest playing CF'er in history last year, to having the deepest playing CF'er.
  20. Sure am glad we let him bat last inning...
  21. Col has 5 runs on 6 hits, Cubs have 3 runs on 10 hits.....awesome.
