  1. Wow. this makes for some interesting possibilities. I like the upside. Significant risk. Major changes to the roster...out of the blue. If holmes does come back at full strength he seems to be the anti- Imanaga. 0.6 career HR/9.
  2. You misspelled hilariously entertaining.
  3. Probably pulled through AI search. SI is all AI generated now since they laid off 3/4 of their writers. Post probably the same.
  4. FWIW (not much) NY Post even reporting a return. "The Angels received three prospects in return: infielder Jefferson Rojas (the Cubs’ No. 2 overall prospect), right-handed pitcher Dominick Reid (the Cubs’ No. 13 overall prospect), and right-handed pitcher Mason McGwire, (Chicago’s No. 18 overall prospect)."
  5. Whatever happened to Amaya at first? It will be moot because Busch is going to go on a tear.
  6. Pierzynski too? Was this intentional rage bait?
  7. suck it Wainwright. It's probably already been said in the first 6 pages, but why have someone who hates the Cubs so much broadcast a Cubs game?
  8. One thing is clear: The Cubs are linked heavily to the aggressive pursuit of coming to the table.
  9. There is every chance he’s back inn late May. There’s also a chance he never pitches effectively again. Two TJs is a big deal. For every Jameson Taillon (yes that’s the success story here) there’s a Josh Johnson who never threw another major league pitch.
  10. I’m glad that we are able to help them regress.
  11. Statement game for the whole team and Shota in particular. Get an ace Jed. Feeling pretty confident with New Ace, Shota, Boyd, Peterson/Rea right now.
  12. Skenes is nasty. Fooling Nico so bad looking that he had words with the ump. It was definitely a strike.
  13. Of course, there is room on the roster. The point is, with the TD approaching, it's hard to imagine them hanging onto both instead of upgrading pitching. Additionally, both are significant enough talents that you don't want them rotting on the bench. losing value.
  14. Its nice of opposing defenses to remind us why we should be thankful for an elite defense.
  15. If you can get what you want for Shaw, do it. If it takes Pedro, do it.
  16. Boog isn't my favorite, but if you don't think we're still spoiled with a national level broadcaster, you really need to listen to some A's or Pirates broadcasts.
  17. Now that he's dropped the Harry Caray schtick Dempster is tolerable. Cohen slightly less so. Both are better than 90% of booths in baseball. As Cubs fans we are spoiled with some of the best. Some of you need to watch some other feeds. There is some brutal announcing out there.
  18. I’ve always believed (and think I had evidence at one point) that good hitting beats good pitching, but elite pitching beats elite hitting. An ace matters in the playoffs. Your style of offence doesn’t matter as much, but a big boom can be a difference maker and 1 big cut can be easier to achieve than the 1000 cuts you mentioned. if I wasn’t clear, I’m agreeing with you.
  19. Note in Gameday: Matthew Boyd is allowing a higher hard-hit rate vs. last season (38% -> 50%, MLB avg: 39%). Is this something that has gotten better over the year? Was worse just before IL stint? Cause for concern?
