  1. That's two very good punts from Taylor
  2. I'm not even sure who they are sending out at left guard this week. I guess Kramer?
  3. Im neutral on resigning Jenkins. If you do, I assume you're getting a discount for his lack of availability. If you don't, you're just giving another free agent guard the same money and they'll probably come with baggage too. Roster turnover is probably good for the bears in general this off-season though. Meanwhile, when Caleb Williams takes the snap tonight, he will tie the Bears franchise record for seasons with 16+ starts

  5. Meanwhile, Seattle is moderately competent and Braxton Jones is hurt again (as is Jenkins, shock shock). So I assume it will be full offensive clown shoes sad times
  6. Another person who believes we live in a magical world where things happen just because I want them. I want the Bears to win today. That does not mean the Bears will win today, and I will not be weird for complaining if people say they won if they didn't, just because I wanted it to happen. I'm sorry if facts are inconvenient to your vibes. I would also like to point out that I wasn't even the person who brought up that people were saying Williams gets garbage time stats. I offered an explanation for it, but I didn't actually complain about it. But again, I'm sure the actual facts of what happened are irrelevant somehow.
  7. That's one of several reasons I'm not too worried about Jayden Daniels (another being draft classes are fake competition). The best rookie sometimes turns into the best QB from the class, but it's not the most common outcome
  8. I think the issue isn't do we want Ben Johnson, the issue is does ben Johnson want us.
  9. I would hate Pete Carroll less than all the other old guy names being floated, I guess, but I would still hate it
  10. Me: I don't want the bears to draft defense in the first round Bears: *draft defense* Someone on the internet: "wow the bears drafted offense in the first round" Me: no they didn't Jersey: a-ha! Super weird of you to say you wanted them to draft offense then complain when people say they drafted offense, just because it didn't happen...
  11. See, I get this now. It doesn't matter that I'm objectively correct and proved it. It *feels* like there's a contradiction there, and feelings matter more than facts. Weird way to go through life but most of you seem happy so good luck with it
  12. I assume vrabel is going to the Patriots
  13. Yes? There's no contradiction there. I want garbage time stats. He has not gotten a particularly large amount of them. Those are perfectly congruent statements.
  14. It's simple: neurotypicals work backwards from the result they want, filling in the reasoning later. "Caleb Williams has garbage time stats" doesn't mean that is literally true. It means they don't like caleb Williams and therefore must say things to discredit him.
  15. Just two more games and we can all move on, as the players clearly did several months ago. The Seahawks defense is about average and not entirely on the IR like Detroit's was, so I'm not optimistic for the offense with Braxton Jones hurt yet again. Seahawks -3.5 feels like free money to me, if you're the gambling type If the defense can get scored on fast enough and we can get some garbage time going, here are the Caleb Williams stats to keep an eye on: He needs 584 passing yards in the final two games to break Erik Kramer's franchise record of 3838. He needs 79 attempts to break Aaron Rodgers' NFL record for interception-less streak .He needs 291 combined passing and rushing yards to break Jay Cutler's franchise record of 4003 He needs to avoid 16 sacks in the final two games to not break Carr's NFL record His current sack rate is 10.62%, which is exactly .01 lower than Fields' best season as a Bear, and it would be funny to keep it there or lower He is 15 passing yards behind Jayden Daniels for the rookie lead, although I wouldn't mention this outside of Bears fans circles or you will see skulls coughed up in rage and context.
  16. My life more or less revolves around hockey. I watch it, I play it, I live next to a rink and take my kid to watch games most nights. The biggest issue is that it's expensive. The best way to drive fans to your sport is have kids playing it, and there's no getting around the fact that ice time is expensive and scarce in a way no other sport has to deal with. The NHL's dirty secret is that, with some exceptions, we're watching the rich kids.
  17. The Seahawks' defensive line isn't entirely on the IR like Detroit, so I assume we'll be back to offensive sad times on Thursday. So let's do some more Caleb Willliams stat gawking before we get there. Williams is currently 16th in the NFL in passing yards, 13th in TDs, 3rd in lowest INT%. He needs 584 yards in the final two games to match Erik Kramer's franchise record of 3838. He is currently on pace for the 12th most passing yards by a rookie in NFL history (including Daniels being slightly ahead of him, Williams is just 15 yards behind him for the rookie lead). Despite all the moaning about his accuracy, he has the 23rd highest completion percentage by a rookie starter in NFL history. His sack rate of 10.62%, while way too high, is better than any of Justin FIelds' three seasons as a Bear.
  18. It means give QBs their two years before deciding on them, both good and bad
  19. Really really enjoying the Bryce Young revival. Just give QBs their two years
  20. This is more of a general rant about the state of sports analysis: lots of stats are just bad. There is an absolute firehouse of ****** data analysis out there feeding the hot take industry and people don't question it because anything with a decimal point looks scientific. Bonus points if you can plot it on a scatter graph. I don't know anything about the NBA, but it's awful in the NHL and NFL. Pff grades, BWR, QBR, epa applied to individual players, all bad analysis with bad methodologies. They are literally worse than not using stats at all. Unless I'm shitting on Justin fields with them
  21. He's gotten better the last few weeks about throwing into tougher windows. That 4th and 1 to Odunze was beautiful. Taking things away from Aaron Rodgers is always good
  22. I totally see the argument about the lack of anchor being a problem at guard, but I still think it's worth it. He won't be elite but there's a difference between anchoring on the interior and getting bullrushed after backpedalling to set the edge
  23. Draft and LT and move Jones to G is my pet scenario and I feel like it almost never gets talked about. He's big enough to be a guard and he would be great pulling on run plays
  24. Meanwhile, Williams' interception streak is now the fifth longest in NFL history With 78 pass attempts in the final two games, he could potentially (knock on wood) set the record against the Packers
  25. I think people are more frustrated with the Bears than they are Caleb Williams. All rookie QBs are inconsistent. Nobody cares that Jayden Daniels and the Commanders had a bears-esque first quarter sad times on offense today, because their defense didn't gack up the win after his clutch comeback. Bo Nix threw for 130 with 3 interceptions last week and the perception was that his stock improved for ROY.
