  1. Because you can count on his defense in key situations.
  2. We're winning this game so hard, despite the stupid bullpen.
  3. Setting up the walkoff win in the ninth. Just get out of this not losing and we're fine. No wins for Samardzija. Ever.
  4. If I were a Yankee fan, I'd probably spend a lot of time thinking about what kind of career he's had. But I'm not, so I don't.
  5. It's never OK to wish injury on a player, but I hope Derek Jeter ends his career in the bottom of the 8th by completely shredding both knees and having to be carried off the field.
  6. It's like that episode of Sliders where they find the right Earth but OJ Simpson is on trial for double murder and Jerry's house's gate doesn't squeak, so they move on to the next one.
  7. Eh, those were some good groundball-inducing pitches. It happens.
  8. Finish them! We have the 12th best run differential right now. A grand slam would move it up to 11th.
  9. I hate not knowing whether to be excited about that run or not until we've seen four replays. But yay.
  10. This is going to be like when the A's win 20 in a row in Moneyball. We're doing at least 15. When this team makes the playoffs, a lot of you guys are going to owe Theo an apology.
  11. Headless, but still alive Bickell or dead and headed Sharp? Can Bickell carry around his still talking head? On the end of his stick or under his arm like a watermelon? I was thinking under his arm, a la The Headless Horseman. Then alive Bickell. You want both arms/hands free.
  12. Single for Jeter! This is exciting because I can only assume he plays for our team given all the knob-slobbering he's received the last two days.
  13. No, it was terrible. It wasn't close and the Yankees announcers even knew it. Since when do the Yankees announcers know anything. Seriously, Samardzija and the bullpen have to make 1-0 hold up. That's the only way we win.
  14. Eh, it was close and the check-swing rule is so poorly written you can't really say it was a good or bad call.
  15. If this team had one decent outfielder we'd be winning the division right now. Book it.
  16. Their whole history with IFAs isn't anything special. They've had some hits, but nothing special overall.
  17. Hendricks is literally the only prospect simultaneously being awesome at AAA, and he'll have a full year there before the end of the year. Surely he's getting called up.
