    I try to avoid value discussions precisely because of that. Nobody really knows anybody else's systems well enough to be an expert on this stuff. Is Syndergaard fair value for Castro? I dunno. But I do know that we don't have any sort of "surplus" and I don't like pitching prospects, so whatever his fair value in pitching prospects is, I don't want it.

    The fact that he's right -- the Cubs system will plummet in the rankings soon because all their best players are going to be MLB regulars soon -- is exactly why farm system rankings are terrible.

    Honestly? He's still swinging and missing a tiny bit too much for my taste. But the defense looks way better than I would have guessed. I really want him to get his growing pains out of the way now and be a 2.5-win player in 2015.
