Much like those Cubs, the Phillies' bad contracts start to filter out pretty fast in the next year or two, so any GM who uses it as an excuse to hide behind tanking for years is not doing his job.
Hmmm...I dunno...I mean, the Phillies are bad, but they still have a better record than the Cubs. Not sure if you're allowed to criticize their GM or not. Need a ruling. So long as you mention how bad the Cubs are too, you're good.
I guess I was a Nintendo kid, because I spent most of my video game years when it was NES, and anybody who had the Sega 8-bit system over an NES is the worst. I did have a Genesis over an SNES toward the end though.
not at all. it's just kind of funny to see people snickering at the gm of the best team in baseball while singing the praises of the cubs' front office that has presided over multiple years of garbage. i mean, you really don't see how that seems ridiculous? if we're going to use awful logic like this, then give me a ring count how is that awful logic? You didn't reference farm-system rankings

I laughed and wondered if Kyle would be a part of that before I clicked the link... http://media.giphy.com/media/5ilsskakMwGT6/giphy.gif I wasn't until I clicked on the link.
There's 30 organizations out there. Anyone who writes about the minors as a whole can spend at most 3% of the time on each one that we hardcore fans spend on our team. Of course most of us know the Cubs better than Parks, Callis, whomever do.
Javy just passed 400 PAs. (I just noticed that I have a long-standing aversion to referring to players or management by their first name, but Javy is an exception because he's just that awesome).
I don't see Wood or Jackson as locks. I'd like to see two offseason acquisitions that are good enough to be rotation locks. Arrieta/New Guy/New Guy and then let Hendricks, Wood, Jackson and Straily fight for two spots. That's a bit thin, but I've seen worse rotations.
