  1. About 7 weeks. It's about 3 weeks normally, and every day they're up this year would be another day they need to be held down.
  2. I think it started with jersey? It was someone here. Anyway, "go eat a sandwich by yourself" is just a great insult.
  3. I totally love his work too. Maybe I shouldn't say he's been wrong, so much as he's caused me to be excited about players who since sucked.
  4. What does that even mean? And if we are keeping score like this, he predicted huge things for Rizzo this year. The things that stick out to me lately have been his excitement over Travis Wood's early results and Starlin Castro's increased power, both of which have evaporated.
  5. North is my hero, but outside of Junior Lake, he's been right about like nothing lately.
  6. NSBB: Brought to you by the Williston Herald
  7. Or more Dan Connolly ‏@danconnollysun 35s Duquette said Hunter Harvey is out for year w elbow strain and inflammation. Rest not surgery.
  8. Orioles' Hunter Harvey with "strained flexor mass" in elbow, will miss next start.
  9. Or maybe four. Given that this is the "true" landing spot, I think all four of those would have been caught.
  10. Just eyeballing Doubront's spray chart, 5 of his 10 HRs have been Monster-clearing fly balls.
  11. Besides, audio ads are the real reason NSBB is terrible now. And anyone who says "adblock" is the reason the world is terrible now.
  12. He is, but he's in his left-handed alter-ego.
  13. Yeah, but there were a few months in 2011 where almost every argument was him saying the Cubs would/should rebuild and being blasted from all sides. It's funny to look back now.
  14. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/2695925/dismissive-susan-o.gif
  15. I do think baseball discussions could be kept more baseball-y and less pile-on-y. But I'm just saying "having so few posters" isn't necessarily a bad thing. The world doesn't need another CubsDen or BCB or BleacherNation comments section with a thousand points of dim light each contributing their bad opinions.
  16. It's not that it makes you not post, but the majority of the time it isn't necessary. Most of the time, approaching a post from the position of, "That's wrong, and here's why..." is just as effective as, "ZOMG, you're such an idiot, and here's why..." Telling someone they're dumb is not necessary. Effectively break down their argument and they'll probably realize their post was dumb on their own. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ICXs0E2rWLo/TUP8iLgu98I/AAAAAAAABKQ/v67P0pprYJg/s1600/Antoine-Dodson-Dumb.gif
  17. If being told you are dumb or getting a snarky GIF makes you not post, then you don't deserve to post.
  18. Three years later, davearm was right about everything.
  19. Well it can be a bit of a hive mind here because you guys scare off any other opinions so the only ones left are your own. Just because they are the only ones voiced here doesn't mean they are the only "worthwhile" ones. That's a terrible opinion. You should go now.
  20. I'm not saying new posters shouldn't be welcome, but scaring off bad opinions is why NSBB has a higher concentration of worthwhile opinions than any other Cubs site.
