Who cares if they suck now. At some point in the future, the Cardinals will be awesome, and that's all that matters. Three of those guys are pitchers, your argument is invalid. I didn't necessarily mean those guys. It could be 40 years from now.

I think Theo might actually immediately walk out the door and fly home to Boston if Ricketts decided to cap his payroll at $50M because he didn't think starting pitching was worth spending on. I'd be surprised if noticed, so long as his draft and minor-league budgets weren't hit. -
