  1. "decent against LHP" is like the ultimate admission that a guy sucks. That's the bare minimum for even being considered for an MLB job. "If you place him only in favorable matchups that are quite the minority, he's decent."
  2. I am at a hotel in Elk Grove and it just took me almost an hour to get to and back from a McDonalds less than a block away because it was on the other side of a six-lane road and an intersection and I kept driving past my turns because I couldn't get over in time.
  3. Bernstein was out for caller blood even more than usual today. It is usually annoying but when things are a total crapfest in sports it is cathartic to listen to them. He was just daring any caller to bring up McCown.
  4. He's looked worse at times this year, but not at all times. I think last game was clearly his worst and I believe that was a throw in the towel game in response to the coaching debacle. It's disappointing and partially justifies the complaints about his attitude, but not the norm. Even when he has had some success this year, his arm has looked way worse.
  5. I think his body's shot from taking a billion hits and being diabetic and it's only downhill from here. He's 31. And every indication that he's aggressively managing his blood sugar levels. Unless you can provide a source for that I'm taking it as wild speculation. Of course it is speculation. We are speculating on why he looks so much worse this year and how he might do in the future.

  7. I dont know how this position can be defensed. Yeah, I don't agree with that either. Our best bet is to stick with Cutler and hope to get lucky before he leaves, or restock the rest of the team to compensate for QB mediocrity. That probably is our best bet, but it doesn't mean it's not a sucky bet.
  8. I dont know how this position can be defensed. He's not the same QB he was when he was 29 or whatever.
  9. I betcha at least two Cubs outfielders with >50 PAs this year will end up putting up a lower OPS than .650.
  10. We're adrift in the Sea of Lost QBs if we keep him, too, at this point.
  11. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha. I thought we'd reached fun bad maximus, but this is even worse/better.
  12. So what, we shouldn't discuss anything until spring training startS?
  13. I'm just a known idiot, but I am aware that this crazy thing called "Spring Training" exists. "Hey Kris, go spend twenty minutes tracking down fly balls" on some high-sunned March morning. Boom, he now can handle left field. this post just makes me want a 20 minute video of you trying to catch fly balls on a sunny day. I'm not a professional athlete who played outfield in college two years ago.

  15. I don't know why anyone would think that. They are 100% certain that Bryant is going to play a position he has never played even though he just spent an entire minor league season at 3B? That doesn't make any sense. It's left field. You don't need experience to play it.
  16. I'm not watching them this time, but yeah I remember them specifically being pretty bad a few different times.
  17. I think people are kinda underplaying the possibility that Myers kinda sucks.
  18. Chaos theory tells us that if we didn't have the 2004 Cubs, we wouldn't have gotten Kris Bryant.
  19. It reminds all the old ladies visiting from Iowa that the Cubs exist and it'd be fun to put down $10 on them to win the WS.
  20. Shea McLellin still looks like the JV kid who gets stuck playing varsity LB after a fluke run of injuries.
  21. Now Gruden just blamed Cutler for every false start on the offense since 2009.
  22. The possibility that they may actually get a home playoff game is infuriating. Infuriating, or hilarious?
