    Highlights where they have failed with the offense. Despite some star quality there are no dynamic playmakers. Nobody has to fear giving up the big play so they can focus on limiting the intermediate stuff they rely so heavily on. All our good players hit the "football players get old too soon" wall simultaneously.

    If Javy can get his strikeout rate to 25% in the majors, he'll be a force offensively. Sure. So all we have to do is convince MLB teams to universally employ pitchers only a little better than AAA pitchers.

    The TV deal. But on the fliipside, Wittenmeyer reports the Cubs have talked about Zimmerman. Immediately, all the FO-slurping reporters in town get the same leak and report that this is wildly wrong. Everyone laughs at how stupid Wittenmeyer is. Two weeks later we find out that the Nats have been shopping Zimmerman, more or less proving that the Cubs had to have at least talked about it.

    Even 67% in AAA is really bad. You're basically being Mark Reynolds in a league where Chris Rusin and Casey Coleman are good pitchers. But hopefully the age thing lets him improve his contact skills a ton in a very short time.

    His AAA K-rate was really bad, too. And historically, high K-rates in the minors are really bad signs even if the OPS is still high. We're hoping that his extremely young age balances that out.

    No, because in order to have that faint glimmer of hope, you have to give him playing time, and he's not worth the playing time. I wouldn't take Brown for free.

    It's obvious that the Sun Times has an agenda It's obvious a lot of reporters in town have an agenda. Wittenmeyer's agenda is just more obvious to many because it goes against the zeitgeist.

    Wittenmeyer's sources are fine (or at least no worse than everybody else's). He's just ruined his credibility by being a jerk in a way that people don't like.
