  1. It's an important distinction. "I think your opinion is wrong and here is why" is a cool thing to say. "I can't even be bothered to disagree, but I think it's lame that you want to talk about that on-topic thing because I don't care about it" is stupid as hell.
  2. That reminds me of the knee-jerk derision of anyone who dares to criticize a move the Cubs FO makes. Sip the kool-aid or get lost. I know people sometimes refer to Japan as being on a different planet, but you may be surprised to learn that everyone challenging your opinions isn't automatically on drugs or following group think, despite how constantly hypocritical you are on the subject. He didn't challenge the opinion. He said he didn't see the point of it, but he didn't in any way challenge it's truth or validity.
  3. General hygiene, etc Women's preference for men who are successful and over 5-6. The slow delivery times on my comic book subscriptions. The way people look at you weird if you wear flip-flops in winter.
  4. I care as much about what you find tiresome as you do about what I find tiresome.
  5. Lol and then all the kyles in the world scream about "wow second place again!" Yeah, Kyle you are completely full of isht. You'd be losing your bleeping mind if they passed on Lester because they didn't want to give Ross two years. Not exactly the same, but similar to if the Bulls had passed on Rodman because he came with his nominal shrink, Jack Haley. I said before Lester signed that there were plenty of alternatives I'd prefer to him, and that if he was tied to Ross he'd be less desirable and thus even more preferable alternatives.
  6. sure, if it were low. No, I mean Baez could strike out in 75% of his PAs and it would still matter 0%. Just like his current Bondsian OPS. I mean, we're talking about 5 games in winter league, this shouldn't require explaining. Feel free to explain with a reason that isn't "sample size because I say so."
  7. "Who cares about the K-rate in the lower level, the OPS is fine." I never get over how people in *this* fan base can still say that with a straight face.
  8. Yeah. Getting whiffed by third-tier pitchers means nothing.
  9. Honestly I can see the pitch-framing thing turning out awesome for us but I am pretty invested now in hating this move, plus couldn't we have found another guy who could frame pitches but also not be an elderly wet fart at the plate?
  10. Lol and then all the kyles in the world scream about "wow second place again!" I am working under the hypothetical that they tell Lester to go screw and go make an awesome trade. Of course we know what they'd really do is shut down and start telling Kaplan to hype 2017.
  11. I'm already paying Lester $20m more than any other team wanted to pay him. Now I have to drag down the roster with some decrepit Crash Davis just for him? Yeah, I might decide to look elsewhere at that point.
  12. The most pessimistic side of me really hopes this isn't a case of discovering a shiny new toy and going overboard. like you and the internet I've been doing pretty much exactly this for 15 years now. It's oddly comforting.
  13. Jokes on you, I'll just never post again and you'll never get the chance.
  14. Yes, because all anyone wanted was for the Cubs to simply sign a random number of players. All these random players make sense, so they aren't so random. So instead of the stupid thing you said, why not just say "I like these moves and other people don't."
  15. I know a guy on another forum who always had Cutler's "record" in his signature, even before he got to the Bears. He mysteriously stopped updating it right around that time.
  16. Congratulations on the worst opinion I've seen here since that guy who timed his buddies diving into first.

  18. Why on earth would you think that's something worth posting?
  19. eh, i'm not even sure he's worse than castillo in the role he'd be in once you figure the framing. i didn't want this to happen but i'm not exactly upset over it. it's not like it's giving henry blanco $3.2M in 2008 dollars when you have geovany soto. Dude put up a .548 OPS last year. It feels an awful lot like that. it's 50 games and he had a .239 babip He's 38 and a catcher. He'll barely be able to crawl to 1b by the end of the deal. His BABIP will be .000.

  21. I feel like the team started to look too good so we had to start shedding wins to get back down to 83.
