  1. Giving up, will come back tomorrow. Dare you to punish me with missing a comeback baseball gods
  2. Cubs are flailing because they can't get ahead in the count or count on balls being called balls with two strikes
  3. Umpire has a boner for calling backdoor pitches regardless of whether they are strikes
  4. I can't believe they are going 1-4-7. Thanks for the free degradation of your only good starter
  5. Platoon advantage is a real thing and "last X weeks" /!; stuff are not. This is the right call, as you should expect from this management at this point. All the pressure is on Cleveland in this one. Losing a Kubler start would be backbreaking. Also I'm going to refer to him as Koogler from now on just cause.
  6. Covering up for rotation problems with a lights out bullpen isn't something nobody has heard of before. It works brilliantly until you don't have the early lead a couple of times. 60/40 Cubs seems pretty reasonable to me. Indians winning wouldn't surprise me. Cubs winning would surprise me less
  7. At this point I'm not sure I care if we burn an Arriets start
  8. Maybe I'm just old and dead inside, or maybe I'm haunted by the fact that we were bad in 2012, but this stuff just doesn't feel as transcendent as it did when I was a kid or even in my 20s. If they win in game 5 while I'm out doing other things, I'll check my phone and see that they won and be happy. I'll watch all the replays and buy some merchandise and read the threads. Hell, if any of the games I'm home for turn into a five-hour extra inning monstrosity, I might just wait till the morning for the end of those too.
  9. I want Schwarber to be ready this fast just to show how dumb five weeks of spring games are.
  10. Seen online: in 293 career appearances in regular season or playoffs, that was the first time Kershaw had given up XBH in five straight innings.
  11. There was a lot of satisfaction in seeing the tiniest bit of trouble start to flair up with five outs to go and going straight to the overkill of 103 mph protecting a five run lead.
  12. Off the top of my head, last year against the Cardinals and 2003 against the Marlins. And looking it up, the only other is six straight across 1907 and 1908
