  1. I feel better now. Gonna quit watching on that high note
  2. 20 points allowed at half time, no turnovers, getting burned in a 1-minute drill. I am reluctantly forced to give the defense a first-half grade of merely "awesome minus."
  3. That thing where the offense has the ball to start the play but then the defense has it looks neat. I wonder if we will get any of those this season.
  4. If that is the last pass Glennon throws as a Bear, I'm glad it happened.
  5. The running game will be able to get its stats up late in the blowout though
  6. Basically the modern NFL doesn't give a horsefeather that you are good at stopping the run or running the ball
  7. It was a ball control game on both sides. If New Orleans had needed more points, they would have had them. Bears defense got shoved around when the game was on the line late. lol you are really good at being really bad at pretending you know what you're talking about seriously though, how do you do stuff like this so often I would rather screw the small details than be wrong about the big picture. Fortunately the defense already has a built in excuse today. They can be good another week without actually accomplishing anything
  8. RIP Tarik Cohen love train
  9. I'll go with good defense but enough time and we will find out with more certainty they held one of the best offenses in the league last week to 23 points, 7 of which largely happened because the guy communicating the plays was concussed. it's a good defense, but i will say it can't sustain many more injuries (which can be said for most nfl teams) It was a ball control game on both sides. If New Orleans had needed more points, they would have had them. Bears defense got shoved around when the game was on the line late.
  10. Yep. It's an okay defense and the best unit on the team, but nothing special at all. Oh look Glennon is checking down
  11. Being from downstate, I don't think I even met a White Sox fan until college.
  12. Never ever ever give pitchers guaranteed money and years when you don't have to.
  13. Maybe they'll get better at it. I just think that if we're using "great" for a performance that involved allowing 24 points, forcing zero turnovers, and getting bowled over on two crucial second-half drives, we're going to run out of superlatives if the defense ever does something crazy like hold a team under 20 or put together a couple of forced fumbles.
  14. They were 32nd at getting turnovers last year and got 0 yesterday. May be just a coincidence.
  15. It's impossible to get a good doom boner high off of a defending world champion, so they might as well win the division.
  16. Yeah, it'll get there. They're hitting a lot in the draft and I've got a probably irrational exuberance for Trubisky long-term.
  17. I mean, it wasn't an outright bad performance by the defense. But it's getting graded on a curve for being the least objectionable part of a bad team. They pass rush looked mediocre and unreliable, the secondary mistake-prone, and the linebackers solid but beatable. Being absolutely zero threat to force turnovers is hard to overcome.
  18. Did they win the World Series in 1968?
  19. Call me when Trubisky starts
  20. They've got some nice players who can make a few tackles for loss per game, but they can't force turnovers and they have flaws that good teams will exploit at crucial times.
