  1. Updated Trubisky December stats: 37-for-47 (78.7%), 373 yards (7.9 yd/att), 2 TD, 1 rushing TD, 0 INT, 113.9 QB rating.
  2. I need Cohen to break a screen for 30 yards or something so that Trubisky can get to 300 yards passing.
  3. Trubisky so far in December: 35-for-45, 340 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 1 rushing TD
  4. Trubisky stringing together 110 QB rating games like it’s no big deal
  5. JFC why is finding a competent kicker so hard
  6. The Cubs have a World Series ring(Torres for Chapman) and Quintana(Eloy) because they got the very best IFAs in a particular class. They also got the top rated Cuban prospect (possibly the best IFA overall) in 2012 and turned him into Wade Davis. If that doesn't count we can just pretend Heyward was vacationing in Vancouver or something when he signed.
  7. I live 25 miles from Angels Stadium and sometimes forget Mike Trout exists. I'm less than 10 and I tried but Trout just isn't the exciting type of awesome player. I took my nephews and I was trying to explain to two six-year-olds why it's cool that they get to see the best baseball player in the world (give or take) stand in CF all game and go 1-for-4 with a walk. I'll probably try to make an Ohtani start if things don't get too crazy.
  8. This site isn't exactly representative of all Cubs fandom.
  9. In retrospect, we really overlooked the "Japanese weirdos love Disneyland" angle.
  10. Well I guess I'll have to make it to at least a couple of Angels games this year.
  11. I’d disagree. The Bears have some young talent. They need more and better coaching They have some young talent, but not much, and virtually zero high end blue chip talent. People keep talking about how Ryan Pace should ultimately be judged on Trubisky, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Mitch could develop into a quality QB but this team could still struggle to win if Pace doesn't do a much better job of filling the entire roster. It feels like every draft we come out of it with a decent number of decent players, but then the roster is mysteriously full of not-decent players. I guess looking back, it's the 2015 draft that was a problem. You got Goldman and Amos, and a little value out of Grasu and maybe someday you'll get something out of White but probably not. 2016 was Floyd and Howard, plus Whitehair and Kwiatkowski, and a couple of decent depth contributors. 2017 is early but looks promising: Trubisky, Cohen, Jackson and maybe Shaheen. I look at that list and I want to give him at least one more draft to see if we get more 2016s than 2015s. But then I realize that one more draft isn't going to make this wet-fart team good, and do I really want to give a GM five drafts when the whole team is a turd sandwich? All I know is my gut says maybe.
  12. I also enjoyed this one: If I had to choose between Otani and getting Grant Brisbee on a Cubs beat, I'd take Brisbee.
  13. I don't think we're going to top "Trubisky puts up a 117 QB rating, Bears lose 15-14 on five Robbie Gould field goals, Cohen has a ridiculous punt return that involves running 10 yards backwards" as far as good tank losses go. Obviously I don't care about any of these turds except for Trubisky.
  14. He didn't even have accuracy problems today. 12-for-15 and at least one of the three incompletes was a drop. I might have missed a play here and there, but the only inaccurate throw I can remember was the one on the "free play" when there was a penalty and he tried to force in an 8-yard curl. That's also the only bad decision I really remember. It's hard to give him a full evaluation when he only throws 15 passes, but this was the best he's looked so far.
  15. He looked good today THEY PUT UP 7 POINTS AGAINST PROBABLY THE WORST DEFENSE IN THE NFL I didn't say "the offense looked good today." I said Trubisky looked good today. He completed 80% of his passes, threw a touchdown on 7% of his passing attempts, had no turnovers. Had a couple of nice runs. He made solid decisions consistently and showed NFL quality throws. If you actually care about evaluating individual players and not just backing up a preconceived idea or making broader team-based arguments, there's no way you can say Trubisky was anything but acceptable today.
  16. LOL How so? Only a 117 QBR today. Scrub.
  17. If it wasn’t for the awkwardness of interim coaching, this would be Fox’s last game. There wasn’t much doubt he wouldn’t last past this season, but this 100% seals it.
  18. most of our good defensive players are out or gimpy cohen hahahahahah My stream is a little behind and I loved knowing that the punt was coming in and "cohen hahahahahah" could be very good or very bad.
  19. Losing 15-14 on five Robbie Gould field goals would be pretty perfect.
  20. I'm mostly in it for Trubisky. And he's rewarded that for the most part. He has real flaws, and I'm not sure exactly how good he's going to be, but there's something there and he's shown improvement.
