  1. Well hit, but not near as close as the cameraman tried to make it look.
  2. Thank you Theriot for stopping at first. It would have been real easy to get gritted out at second. Lee gave the fans a brief thrill, but nowhere close.
  3. lol, Soriano again. This *could* have been our day if we played tighter baseball. Theriot as the tying run does not inspire me.
  4. Nady is making the most out of bad legs in RF.
  5. I'm really torn here. The offense was decent, and you can't expect to see Zambrano and Marmol fall apart, and you have to lose sometimes to a team. But the Cubs were really bad fundamentally today. Passed balls, bad throws, bad slides, stupid slides.
  6. If Fontenot reaches, they should intentionally walk Soriano and Theriot to get to Lee for the gimme GIDP.
  7. Okay, now I'm so pissed at Piniella again I'm almost glad we're losing. Reed Johnson. CANNOT. HIT. RIGHTIES!!!!!!!!!
  8. When you are a fan of a team that is led offensively by a career scrub minor-league catcher who suddenly learned how to hit, I don't think you can complain about that sort of thing :) Not to mention Sosa.
  9. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/280517116_Pirates_Cubs_73443270_lbig.png
  10. This game is so exciting I just remembered my laundry's been sitting done in the communal dryer for 90 minutes. My Heaven/Hell fangraph just took a slight tick downward.
  11. Leverage index 2.35, Marmol in. I'm KyleJRM, and I approve this Marmol appearance.
  12. He took a handful of his college buddies, used a hand-timed stopwatch and bad scientific method, and thus proved that sliding is faster.
  13. DeRosa costs himself an infield single with a stupid slide. I hope he hurt himself.
  14. To be fair, Kosuke shouldn't be batting 5th To be more fair, that's also Lou's fault I go back to Hendry for signing a right-handed LFer when he knew we were already committed to a righty at 1B. But I guess I'm not complaining about that signing today. Sotowarningtrackpower.
  15. Remember Ramirez's stolen base? We need to try it again, FukuGIDP is a big issue here.
  16. Ramirez takes ball three on the same pitch Lieber didn't get. If he'd been rung up on that, even I would have complained.
  17. Lieber hangs an 0-2 slider, fortunately it was hit on the ground for a single.
