Thank you Theriot for stopping at first. It would have been real easy to get gritted out at second. Lee gave the fans a brief thrill, but nowhere close.
I'm really torn here. The offense was decent, and you can't expect to see Zambrano and Marmol fall apart, and you have to lose sometimes to a team. But the Cubs were really bad fundamentally today. Passed balls, bad throws, bad slides, stupid slides.
When you are a fan of a team that is led offensively by a career scrub minor-league catcher who suddenly learned how to hit, I don't think you can complain about that sort of thing :) Not to mention Sosa.
This game is so exciting I just remembered my laundry's been sitting done in the communal dryer for 90 minutes. My Heaven/Hell fangraph just took a slight tick downward.
To be fair, Kosuke shouldn't be batting 5th To be more fair, that's also Lou's fault I go back to Hendry for signing a right-handed LFer when he knew we were already committed to a righty at 1B. But I guess I'm not complaining about that signing today. Sotowarningtrackpower.
