  1. And Lou goes and gets him because the ground ball was in the hole instead of at a fielder. Idiotic. When this pen falls apart in August, I can't wait to hear Piniella say how it wasn't his fault.
  2. Cotts would get the save if he finishes it out from here.
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/280603125_Cubs_Padres_79762528_lbig.png Not quite over yet, we're due for one of these...
  4. Walked home a run with a six-run lead. If I'm manager, Hart is pulled from the game and immediately sent down, never to return.
  5. Bases loaded, 3-2 count. Hart challenging my "any pitcher will do with a 6-run lead" theory.
  6. Barrett's might have been gone at Wrigley there. Never a chance in Petco, though.
  7. Cubs run differential for the season is up to +99. Need one more tonight!
  8. Upper-deck to the deepest left-center in the majors.
  9. Lee lines out hard to center. He's looked better since his lucky single.
  10. Four. That is, if you fairly count that Soriano's counts for two.
  11. Cedeno manages to squeeze a hit out of his 15th weak grounder.
  12. 4-6-3, Eyre looking good. Lee saved a bad throw.
  13. And by kicks up I mean sets off a chalk explosion. They may have used a bit too much chalk.
  14. Ramirez kicks up chalk on a liner to left, double.
  15. Lee knew he got under it, but he missed one by a foot there.
  16. If it's a close game and you're in the bullpen, a good manager changes pitchers as often as possible by definition It's called playing the percentages. It's what good managers do. What do they do with three run leads? http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/280603125_Cubs_Padres_79720996_lbig.png
  17. I love our bullpen. I still want another good lefty, though. I'm from the "take what you are already good at and get better" school of thought. I wish Angelo would draft defense every year.
