The Cubs are the best team in the league, something they haven't accomplished in a long time, and we will always have that to fall back on. and at the end of the playoffs, that and 50 cents will get you a phone call. If you want to decide that a coin-flip tournament is more important to you than a 162-game regular season, that's your call. I've made my choice :)

Simple math. I believe the Cubs are the best team in the NL. I give them a 60% chance to win any given series. Thus, the Cubs have a 36% chance to win both series. The field gets 64%. It has nothing to do with negativism, curses or anything like that. It's simply the playoff format that doesn't give the best teams enough time to establish their superiority.

I'll take the NL field over the Cubs. That's all I'm willing to predict.

At what age does "he started it" stop becoming a valid excuse for doing something stupid and unprofessional? I think Tillman's past it, whatever it is.

I can't think of one good reason why Tillman shouldn't be cut right now to prove a point to these players. I'll probably feel better when I'm calmed down.

I don't own a single piece for any of my favorite teams. I always wait to see how far they go, because I don't to waste money on a divisional title hat in a league championship year, and then when they lose I'm too depressed about them to want anything at all.

To this day, I don't own a single piece of "championship" merchandise for any of my sports teams because I always hold off to see if they go further (who wants an "NFC North Champ" hat for a Super Bowl year?), and then when the season ends I'm too disappointed to want anything.

That wasn't Carlos Zambrano though. First, he only threw 110 pitches in the no-hitter. Second, the velocity yesterday on his fastball? It was his 3rd highest all season, and the highest velocity all year when he was on regular rest. It wasn't even close to low. A mistake isn't fabrication, and an utterly horrific start isn't "no." Then the reports I read were exaggerated. But still, the need to dismiss anything bad as absolutely unconcerning confuses me. The need to make things bad off of no/fabricated evidence is more confusing. -

How many does K-Zone miss? Or do camera angles affect a computer simulated RULEBOOK strikezone? What's the margin of error on K-zone? Honestly, I'm asking. A lot more accurate than umpires. Soo... you don't know?

Umpires miss calls. Fans on message boards miss many, many more.

You do realize that the camera being off center affects your ability to see the exact strike zone, right? You do realize that being off center doesn't affect the height of the pitch as it relates to the hitter? The fact that it's on the freaking scoreboard several stories in the air affects your perception of the height of the pitch.

You might want to check their batting averages You might want to check their averages over the last month or so. or completely ignore batting averages which don't tell you much at all They kinda tell you the likelihood of getting a hit.
