  1. Cleveland might have interest in a bullpen arm. They're counting on Mota and Wickman to be the back end of that pen. We might could entice them with someone like Wuertz.
  2. Phillips is going to be traded. Link. He's lost his job in Cleveland and is out of options. Shapiro says he will be traded. At one time, Phillips was viewes as a blue-chip prospect. He hasn't had much success in the majors, but he's still only 24. We have a glut of middle infielders, but do we have anything Cleveland would want and would Phillips be worth a gamble?
  3. So, the big chair picked the Cardinals over us.
  4. He would have never made the majors without one, so a positon change could be a good thing for him.
  5. Mark Patrick, Buck Martinez, and who? is on that show. How did each pick. My guess is Buck picked the Cards.
  6. You can go to http://www.xmradio.com and click on programming. There's a link to sports programming and you can select your team. From there, it will tell the channel of each game for that week.
  7. You can count me in. Let me know what I need to do.
  8. I figured it was as truthful as W., but that was just me. :D
  9. Let's hope that's indicative of what his first few starts in the regular season will be.
  10. I'd rather get Brandon Wood than Howie Kendrick. If we locked up Pierre for a couple more years, I'd be more amenable to this deal.
  11. It appears Williams has thrown three scoreless innings thus far.
  12. It would be nice to be able to have a healthy Wood, Prior, and Miller along with Zambrano and Maddux and good performances by Marshall. I know that's a lot to ask for, but I can hope.
  13. I cringed when I wrote that. It'd be "to bad" if they wouldn't open up if given immunity. They really have nothing to lose. As for the grand jury leak. I have no answer and the leaked info hasn't set the world on fire, just lined the pockets of book writers. These players have a lot to lose. They are extremely arrogant individuals and I think many would do anything to keep from admitting that they needed "help" to achieve what they have achieved.
  14. Can anyone with a subscription state exactly what he said that caused the headline. Not that I doubt it, but this was the same site that had us undeniably acquiring Furcal and trading for Soriano. There's a credibility issue with the site, needless to say. Headline says that Sean Marshall himself said that he was told he was the 4th starter. Yeah...that's why I'm curious to what exactly Marshall said. This could be a case of a faulty inference to create a shocking headline. There was a headline in the Dallas papers "Clemens to Be with Rangers for Opening Day". Everyone who intially saw the headline was lie "WTF...the Rangers signed Clemens!" But the article was misleading in that it was about Clemens accepting Hicks invitation to be a part of the festivities celebrating the Texas Longhorns national championship team. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but I'd like some of the facts to go with the headline. Has that site not been known for faulty infor before (Furcal, Pudge), I might be willing to pony up for some of their articles.
  15. Wow! I'd love that to be opening day 1-8 line-up!

  17. The whole debate here is silly. This is an imaginary team. No team would be able to ever acquire all of the players we've listed. It's really silly to continue these arguments any further. However, if for some strange stroke of luck a team had Derrek Lee and Albert Pujols on the team, I think it is more than likely that Lee plays first and Pujols returns to left or third depending on who else is on the team. This isn't giving preference to Lee as it is recognizing that Pujols has at least seen major league innings in those positions while Lee has not. But since this isn't the case, and this is an imaginary team, people getting their panties in a wad because someone suggest Pujols at left field is ridiculous and rather asinine. But when I consider the poster involved, I really shouldn't be surprised that someone has carried a pointless argument this far.
  18. The radio information is that there is no radio broadcast. That explains why I couldn't find it!! :( @#$ %&*&*# #@!@# I just got my XM last night! My new MiFi will be here today. I'm having the car cradle installed in my vehicle tomorrow. I'm still pissed that someone stole my first MiFi.
  19. If Walker isn't dealt by Saturday, there will be ten fewer teams to which he can be dealt. Why is that? Walker has a ten-team no trade list that goes into effect on April 1.
  20. If Walker isn't dealt by Saturday, there will be ten fewer teams to which he can be dealt.
  21. Here's Bruce Miles' take on who will head north.
  22. A Cardinal fan asked Jerry Crasnick about acquiring Church. Link
  23. Reyes will get his shot. We might as well ride Ponson as far as we can. Let Reyes work on pitch selection and location in AAA. Maybe we trade Ponson before the deadline for another outfield bat and bring Reyes up for the stretch run. This really doesn't seem like a big deal to me. The Cardinals have gotten big dividends from reclamation projects before, maybe Duncan can work his magic on Ponson too. Turning mediocre vets' careers around is what he seems to do well. While I'm sure he's large enough to piggy back most of the team, I'm not sure he's got the endurance to go very far.
