  1. I'm not listening. Purchased MLBTV and I'm watching the Dbacks broadcast.
  2. Green pops up to retire the side. On 3 hits, 0 BB, Dbacks score twice. 2-0 Diamondbacks, middle of 1.
  3. Jackson singles to right center, Gonzalez scores. 2-0 Diamondbacks.
  4. Gonzalez doubles off the top of the RF wall. Ryu getting rattled a bit here.
  5. Pitch gets away from Barrett and Hudson goes to third.
  6. IMO, it's Marshall. I raised the question yesterday if one of those guys could move into the 4th spot. Dusty said no. While I doubt any take Rusch or Williams's job out of spring, could one of them pitch well enough to keep it when Wood or Prior return?
  7. Game is being delayed because of a bee problem in the Diamondbacks' dugout.
  8. Bruce, Any word on Wade Miller's velocity out of camp? No, they're not keeping guns on guys like Miller and Wood. Wood has been throwing very well, and Miller is a couple weeks behind that. He also has been doing well, but the Cubs aren't rushing him. What do you think we should realistically expect out of Miller this year?
  9. Lee: 295/385/560 40 HR Carpenter: 16-8; 3.45 ERA; 250 BAA; 7.12 K/9
  10. Well, I guess that means Halsey won't be starting the game today against the Cubs.
  11. This could be why the Cubs are trying so desperately to trade Walker.
  12. As nice as that sounds, if the Red Sox let us have him, we'd be stuck with him. It would almost force us to carry way too many middle infielders.
  13. For the right team, a great pick-up. But like Choi, he isn't the right fit for the Cubs. The Marlins should have some interest in him.
  14. Given the struggles of the Cardinals secondbasemen, I could see them placing a claim of Graffanino. The Mets likely have more interest than the Cubs do at this point as well.
  15. There's lots of speculation that the Braves are shopping pitcher John Thompson. One story has the Pirates trading Craig Wilson to the Braves for him. Link. The move makes sense for the Braves. Wilson could platoon at first with Adam Laroche and could also complement the left-handers the Braves have in leftfield. On the other hand, the Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting the Braves are looking for relief help in exchange for Thompson. Link. Would the Braves have interest in Scott Williamson? While Thompson doesn't exactly fit a need for the Cubs, could a three-way deal be worked in which the Cubs get something useful, Williamson goes to the Braves, and Thompson to a team in need of starting pitching?
  16. That's an excellent post. Sammy's spike, while amazing is not unprecedented. It comes with suspicion because of what we know about the era in which he played. I'm not saying Sammy did or didn't juice, but frankly other than someone using the "look" test which is probably the most unreliable way to detect a user, we really have no compelling evidence whatsoever.
  17. Jae Kuk Ryu will get his first start of the spring as the Cubs take on Brad Halsey and the Diamondbacks. The game is on WGN radio.
  18. He's not going to get to 500. This would be his last season either way.
  19. Florida will come out of the other side. That worries me because they handled LSU easily in the SEC tourney. So far, 2 for 2 in my Final Four predictions.
  20. I think you need to pay more attention to the tremendous leaping ability You've almost mentioned as much as the commentators did.
