  1. I can't make the game, but will you still bid on a jersey for me again? That worked out really well for me last time. :)
  2. I think they are just having fun with you. My guess is that there may not be seats available in the sections that you're looking for. Most of the time the sections behind the dugout are seats that are held for season ticket holders or are being held back from advanced sales because they are hoping to sell them as season tickets. While those sections may not be completely sold out, calling the ticket office isn't likely to help. You could try ebay or something like that if you are committed to only sitting in those sections. You could also wait until closer to the game to see if the ticket office releases more of those seats for single game sales.
  3. None of the above. Blech. That's the whole point. If wer'e gonna speculate about who the next manager could be, let's talk about the types of guys that actually have a chance at getting interviewed by the Cubs. And after doing so, we can ask ourselves if we still want Dusty gone for one of them. Why do you assume those guys over guys like Davey Johnson, Dierker, or Gonzalez? If you mean former managers, then Johnson and Dierker fit the bill. Rumor has it that if Baker hadn't accepted the Cubs job prior to the 03 season that Gonzalez really impressed in interviews. I think the trio of Dierker, Johnson, and Gonzalez are just as likely as Fregsosi, Williams, or Howe. And I'd take any of the former over the later.
  4. I'm all for replacing Baker with a better manager, it's just Piniella isn't that manager. Give me Davey Johnson, Fredi Gonzalez, or Larry Dierker any day.
  5. I had high hopes for Connolly.
  6. I love what Juan Encarnacion brings to the Cardinals.
  7. Yeah. I made pics through Tuesday because I knew I would be gone, but thought I'd wake up in time to make today's pick and didn't. Oh well, new streak starts tomorrow.
  8. I'd rather keep Dusty than have Piniella managing the team. seconded
  9. Well, after arriving home at 3 AM, I forgot to get a pick in for today, so I start anew on Thursday.
  10. Maybe they think Freel will be too hung over to play. :-k
  11. The Sheets injury has put my team behind the proverbial 8-ball.
  12.
  13. Very true, but this isnt the first time we've heard that rumor. It seems like there may be something to it. I dont know if I understand it fully, as I havent taken the time to do more then skim a couple articles about it. But as I understand it, it has something to do with If they cannot get a new stadium deal to bring in new revenue, they may need to trade Willis/Cabrera to clear up some cash. From today's Newsday Article Pie, Marshall, Murton, and Gallagher can all go for Cabrera. Seconded.
  14. Dubois would look nice as the right-handed power off the bench we need this year.
  15. Go Vance go! With LSU losing, I dropped...big time. If Florida wins it all though, I might climb back up some.
  16. Not only do I lead the NSBB pool, but I'm #20 in all of Yahoo!
  17. Come on now, Chuck Finley was TOTALLY worth it. Chuck Finley lives down the street from my brother.
  18. I'm going to have to let Pat and Ron describe the action for me as I'll be taking in an Opening Day Game in Texas. But, I'm hoping this will be the first of many, many Cubs victories. BHogg do yo thang!
  19. While I'm not overly thrilled about Bynum, I'm not heartbroken over losing Koronka. I'm not sure we got anything of value, but we didn't give up anything of value either.
  20. Miles has a career OPS+ of 67. Good move for the Cardinals. :)
  21. And while I had become quite worried lately, I always thought that Dusty would go with Walker. I think this is a situation where Hendry may have wanted to go in another direction, but Dusty likes Walker and will stick with him.
  22. Cool! That means I'm getting two free hats this year. :p
